Gale Harold and Randy Harrison had some retro fun in their polyester pants and wild wigs at a photo shoot for the May 2004 issue of Menz magazine, where they modeled clothing by French-Canadian designer Slooflirpa (featured in the Fashion section). Author Rail Ami, who also hails from Quebec, scored an interview with the on-screen couple earlier this year at the studio in Toronto. The magazine won't be on stands for another few weeks, but we will be able to share some exerpts from the article (more to come...see below) *
Possible "L WORD" crossover? Back in January, Showtime's President of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt said, "This groundbreaking series has quickly and successfully captivated the attention of viewers, critics, journalists, and even a presidential candidate, creating the kind of incessant buzz that signals a hit. We already have 14 episodes completed so we've seen the strong future of the series, and with its provocative storytelling, rich character development, amazing cast, and universal appeal, the decision to renew THE L WORD was a no-brainer." Seems his enthusiasm was so contagious, the network brass have now decided to look into a possible crossover with Queer As Folk, where members of the cast would show up on each others' series in upcoming seasons. One idea being batted around is that the gang from the Pitts heads to La-La-land for the Gay Pride celebrations, where their paths cross with some of the characters from the Lesbian drama. There has also been talk of these two shows battling it out on "Family Feud", which would be a definite first! * Talk about your ' wardrobe malfunctions'... seems Janet Jackson isn't the only one exposing herself on TV these days! Patrick Antosh, Costume Designer for QAF, tells Toronto's Fab magazine that a particular spool of the elastic used in the privacy socks worn by the male cast members when nudity (or near-nudity) is called for in a scene was not up to its usual quality standards, and the articles in question were not keeping the actors' 'packages' properly protected when excessive friction was encountered (if you know what he means, LOL). Seems there was some "slippage" (is that like Seinfeld's "shrinkage"?) caught on tape, which was very quickly left on the cutting room floor. Hmmm... if only we could convince the editors to include some of this footage on the Season 4 DVD sets!! ** For more information on the stories above, scroll down... |

Gotcha!! This April Fool's joke has been brought to you by QAF Addiction. I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist having a little fun today! There is no designer named "Slooflirpa", and "Rail Ami" is also a fictional person (try spelling the words backwards -- get it?). I can't imagine what a mess a crossover show would be.... aaack!! No offense to the lovely actresses on "The L Word", but I like my gay boiz right where they belong... in the Pitts!! So again, no truth to that story either. As for the 'cock socks', my apologies to Patrick Antosh for putting words in his mouth, and to the makers of the materials that go into those particular wardrobe items... I'm sure they are quite reliable and provide excellent coverage. :) |
