Fabrizio Filippo
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Fabrizio Filippo (affectionately known as "Fab") came back home to play 'Ethan' on Queer As Folk. Career-wise, the young actor has accomplished much in a short time. He has worked successfully and extensively in film, television and theater, both in Canada and the United States. Playing a musician is not a new experience for this actor, as evidenced by his impressive list of credits.

In Los Angeles, Fab landed the pilot Dangerous Minds for ABC, and was later cast in the coveted role of Hamilton, the loveable and sensitive off-beat musician in Lush Life. (FOX) He was soon cast in yet another ABC pilot called Cracker for director/writer James Sadwith. Fab also recurred opposite Julie Hagerty in six episodes of the series Reunited. He generated even more interest when he landed the series regular role of the underground film-maker in the one-hour drama Hollyweird for producers/creators Wes Craven and Shaun Cassidy.

His many television credits include the handsome and dangerous drummer, Johnny, in the ABC Movie of the Week Radiant City opposite Kirstie Alley, Providence (NBC) playing the love-struck Italian gondolier, and three episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer (as Buffy's boyfriend). Fab is perhaps best known in his native Canada and Europe for his work as the vulnerable Dom, the older brother on the award-winning Disney TV series Ready or Not.

Fabrizio recently completed 13 episodes of the Paramount/Sci-Fi series LEVEL 9, created by John Sacret Young, in which he plays the rebel computer-hacker, Roland Travis, He can also be seen in critically acclaimed, but short lived FOX series Action (now seen every Tuesday on the FX channel) starring Jay Mohr. Fab plays Holden Van Dorn, the in and out of rehab 'actor'.

Fab's recent feature film credits include the lead role in the Odeon feature waydowntown for director Gary Burns (Kitchen Party). The film premiered at the 2000 Toronto Film Festival where it was awarded the City Award for Best Canadian Feature. waydowntown also screened at the 2000 Vancouver and Calgary Film Festivals where it garnered Audience Awards. The film is scheduled for a US Premiere in New York in August 2001. Other film credits include Life Before This (opposite Sarah Polley) for Alliance Films. He was also seen as the lead in the haunting independent film The Drive which was screened at the Montreal World Film Festival as well as various other U.S. and international film festivals.

Fab's work is strongly rooted in the theater and he has written, co-written and directed several plays which have been produced at some on some of Canada's finest stages. Fab's plays Waiting for Lewis and This Is Our Youth (directed by Woody Harrelson) both completed successful runs in Toronto. Things are Falling Always, The Gospel Accordingly and White/Noise/Jump all had their debut at Toronto's renowned Tarragon Theater. White/Noise/Jump was subsequently remounted in New York at the first annual New York Fringe Theater Festival where Fab won special mention for his performance and also winning for Best Play.

As an actor, some of Fab's leading stage credits include the role of Lewis in the Canadian premiere of the Australian hit play Summer of the Aliens, Sergino in Power Play, and Billy in Steel Kiss.
