Showtime Launches eBay Auction
Campaign Includes First-ever EBay Auctions
The Ebay auction will feature iconic memorabilia with proceeds supporting THE TREVOR PROJECT, a non-profit endeavor established to promote acceptance of gay and questioning teenagers, and to aid in suicide prevention among that group. The Trevor Helpline, 866-4-U-TREVOR, is the only national toll-free 24-hour, 365 day-a-year confidential suicide hotline for gay & questioning youth. Each of the iconic items will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Showtime.
The memorabilia are items that fans of the show have been inquiring about for years. These items will include:
Queer as Folk – Season One is presented in a special boxed collection featuring all 22 episodes in a 6-disc Special Edition Collectors DVD set featuring almost three hours of extras including “Meet the Folk” - unique biographies on the eight key characters as described by the actors playing them, as well as filmographies on the actors and four producers; extended scenes with introduction by Hal Sparks; a gag reel of hilarious outtakes; a photo gallery put to music from the series; and special editions of episodes 1, 11 and 18 with commentary by the actors and producers. The DVD box set, with a running time of approximately 1,208 minutes, will be available on August 23, 2005 at its lowest SRP, $49.99.
