Showtime Entertainment will re-launch QUEER AS FOLK, The Complete First Season, on DVD, August 23, premiering with an EBAY auction fans have long been awaiting. The first season of the landmark series is being reduced in price from $118.99 to $49.99 and less.

The Ebay auction will feature iconic memorabilia with proceeds supporting THE TREVOR PROJECT, a non-profit endeavor established to promote acceptance of gay and questioning teenagers, and to aid in suicide prevention among that group. The Trevor Helpline, 866-4-U-TREVOR, is the only national toll-free 24-hour, 365 day-a-year confidential suicide hotline for gay & questioning youth. Each of the iconic items will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Showtime.

The memorabilia are items that fans of the show have been inquiring about for years. These items will include:

• The private-school uniform worn by Justin
• The tuxedo shirt worn by Brian to Justin’s prom
• The Jackie-O outfit worn by Emmet with cocktail sauce spilled on it
• The tuxedo shirt worn by Justin as he was gay-bashed, the finale of Season 1

Queer as Folk – Season One is presented in a special boxed collection featuring all 22 episodes in a 6-disc Special Edition Collectors DVD set featuring almost three hours of extras including “Meet the Folk” - unique biographies on the eight key characters as described by the actors playing them, as well as filmographies on the actors and four producers; extended scenes with introduction by Hal Sparks; a gag reel of hilarious outtakes; a photo gallery put to music from the series; and special editions of episodes 1, 11 and 18 with commentary by the actors and producers. The DVD box set, with a running time of approximately 1,208 minutes, will be available on August 23, 2005 at its lowest SRP, $49.99.
