His History:
Mike grew up in Lopez, PA where his parents owned and operated a small Hotel and bar. At age 11 he moved to Florida where he attended and graduated New Smyrna Beach High School in 1987.
After a few semesters of college, Mike decided to join the Navy where he served 2 tours of Duty on aircraft Carriers Theodore Roosevelt and the JFK during Desert Storm.
In 1994 Mike was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. After undergoing radiation therapy, he went into remission and has been cancer free for 8 years.
Mike attended Florida State University where he graduated with a bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and Criminology in 1996. He then went through the Police Academy at DBCC. Before becoming an officer he worked for a short time at Space Camp where he met Misty. A few months later he became a sworn Police Officer for Holly Hill.
In 1999 Mike and Misty were married and the following July welcomed the birth of their first daughter Madison. Two years later they were again blessed with a daughter Morgan. Shortly afterward Mike joined the Sheriff's Office as a deputy.
