Pan and Scan vs Widescreen

Hello to all my faithful viewers out there. I would like to bring up a topic near and dear to our hearts concerning dvd's: widescreen vs full screen. I went into Best Buy the other day to check out The Mummy Returns and what I saw was pretty surprising: almost all the copies they had stocked were full screen. Why is this? I know some people prefer full screen because they hate the black bar on the top and bottom of their tv screens. But, you miss out on some picture when you watch it in full screen. There really is a difference between the two, more than you think. Here are some articles at IGN that are interesting.
