Today we are here to review on of my more favorite movies of the recent years, Blade. And with the sequel out in theaters, we said now is just as good a time as any, so here we are. Blade follows a character from the comic book universe, Blade (Wesley Snipes), who is a vampire hunter that goes out into the night in search of finding, and killing hordes of vampires using silver bullets and stakes and his very, very cool sword. He also has a partner by the name of Whistler( Kris Kristofferson) who is kinda like Blade's handy man, he makes all of the gadgets and what-not. The focus of the story is around Blade and a vampire, Deacon Frost, who is trying to unleash an ultimate evil, of course, Blade is gonna be the guy to stop him right, we'll see...

This movie is very gross. Lots of blood, as can be expected from a vampire movie. However, it has more blood than I could imagine. For some people, that may make you not want to watch the movie, for others that may make you want to see it more. The story is excellent, however gory and gross the film is.

So deliciously true. I remember when I first went to see the movie, I was very surprised at how awesome this flick was, in all aspects, sound, video, effects, the movie, all great. But then I rented it on video and it just didn't hold the same whollup as it did in the theater. Then I got a dvd player, and whammo, it was all great again. The sound is phenomenal, very good use of the surrounds a especially in the fight scenes.

And maybe the video was TOO good, since all that blood came in so clear, it made me a little ill.

Ha ha, no silly, that was when I poured all of that kool-aid on you.

The video quality was also good, especially for a disc that came out almost a year and a half ago, and for a film that is soo dark, no dustiness, or much artifacting at all. The folks over at New Line Cinema did a good job here.

Well they had to, if the dvd was done poorly they would have a bunch of vampires after them, and I personally wouldn't want that.
Rob says:
I don't mind, I can just do like you did and buy some Garlic Powder and keep it next to my bed.

Anyways, please rate the dvd.

Well, I am going to have to give the video a 4 because it is nice a sharp kinda like Blade's sword. The sound I am also gonna give a 4, very nice indeed, kinda like Blade's sword. The movie gonna give a 4.25, cuz its great, like Blade's sword. And one thing we didn't talk about was the special features. There is also a good deal here including a commentary, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, a feature on how the story came about, the origins of the Blade character, a feature on vampire mythology, sketches and info on the different houses of the vampires. Whew, that was a mouthful... of BLOOD!

Ew. As I said before, the story is excellent, the blood, not so excellent. I give the movie a 4. The picture quality was nice, I give it a 4. The sound was good, coulda been better but above average, I give it a 3.75. The extras were pretty good, I give them a 3.75. And so all in all I give Blade... a 4 for people who like gore, a 3.75 for people who don't.

I shall bestow the extras a 4 and overall, my favorite vampire movie recieves... a 4! We gotta save room for the sequel folks, its a doozy!
