Rob says:
Hello Berlinda

Berlinda says:
Hello Robbie

Rob says:
So, looks like we are here to review one of our personal favorites, "The Mummy".

Berlinda says:
That's right Rob, The Mummy is an action-packed movie that takes place in Egypt in the 1930's. The good thing about this movie is that even though it is action, it is funny, unlike your action movies.

Rob says:
Well, while i do like comedy, I love a good hard-core action movie like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and of course the classic "Terminator 2". However, this movie proved that an action movie can be combined with a lite smattering of comedy hi-jinks which makes the overall movie more fun and inviting to a wide variety of audiences.

Berlinda says:
And, this movie has a cute romance story. The Mummy is a movie that is appealing to all audiences.

Rob says:
Yes, it is very true, you can definitely see the chemistry between the lead rolls of Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn (Rachel Weisz). Their on-screen interactions remind me of Berlinda and myself as she is quite a klutz at times and I am forever the swashbuckling hero :) .

Berlinda says: Anyways,Rob always says that seeing a movie on DVD is like seeing it for the first time. In this case it's true. The picture, the sound, everything was so awesome.
Rob says:
Truthfully, I oft wonder if they based the Evelyn character on my beloved Berlinda... it's really quite remarkable....

Berlinda says:
Back to the DVD rating my dear.

Rob says:
I have seen here do at least several of the things that Evelyn did in the movie...

Berlinda says:
Oh my gosh. I can see I have to do this on my own. I'll start with the Special Features.

Rob says:
And they both have brown curly hair too... hmmm... now that I think about it....
Well anyway, what were u saying my love?

Berlinda says:
This movie has a lot of special features. If you are bored one day this will keep you occupied.

Rob says:
They have done us, the viewing public, the favor of adding not one, not two, but three commentaries on the second disc... besides a host of other features including a little featurette on the sequel that almost made me salivate...

Berlinda says:
And it has lots of cool information about Egypt, also how they made some of the scenes in the movie with computers.

Rob says:
Sometimes companies can add a second disc and really not have too much interesting things on it, but with "Mummy:The Ultimate Edition", the jam packed both discs with tons of great extras and an already very enjoyable movie.

Berlinda says:
This is, overall, one of the best DVD's I have seen. The story is good, the features are good, the sound and picture is awesome.

Rob says:
Sadly, neither of us have 5.1 surround quite yet, but I am in the process of hooking my room up with an incredible setup for the ultimate in dvd viewing pleasure, so at that time we can give a complete review of the sound, but for now, my synthesized surround from my dvd player will have to do, and with that, the sound for the "Mummy" is already fantastic.

Berlinda says:
So, in closing, for me, this DVD gets at the minimum, four stars. That is including everything. What about you, Rob?

Rob says:
Well, you know how I oft love to contradict you... but this time... I think I will... have to agree with you on the four stars, now thats not an average, that is an overall rating, so looking at everything this disc has to offer, from sound to visual to all the extras, I am going to go with a four star rating out of five as well. Thanks for coming and reading our review for The Mummy: Ultimate Edition.
It has been my pleasure Berlinda, as always.

Berlinda says:
Same here.
Rob says:
So go out, curl up with a loved one and enjoy this fun romp in the dvd action realm, and if you disagree with any of our review, than you can send your complaints to wedontgiveacrap@screwu.com. Thank you, and goodnight!
Berlinda says:
I'm not putting that in there
Rob says:
yes, it is comical.
Berlinda says:
It might offend someone.
Rob says: So, then they will come back again.trust me.i know our audience.
Berlinda says:
If you say so.
