Savannah

I was in Savannah, GA from 18-31 July.   It dates back to 1733 and was the first city in Georgia.    It was originally designed with 24 squares along the main thoroughfares and 21 remain to this day.   These squares force people to travel at a very leisurely rate.   It is one of the nicest cities I've been to.   There is an amazing variety of architectural design within the Historical District and the Victorian Area.   Ft Pulaski and Tybee Island are just down the road.

Savannah is said to be the most haunted city in America.   There are several very old cemeteries in town.   Between that and the Spanish Moss, it is easy to see why people find it a little chilling.   If you look closely at some of the pictures, you can't see what appear to be ghostly apparitions in the background.
