Moving the storage shed

To make room for our shop, we had to move the storage shed (transportainer). I thought this deserved a page of its own, as it was an exciting adventure. Moving a 5,000 pound metal shed is no small feat. We called in the expert, Louie Sandoval and his slightly larger back-hoe!

Moving our Storage Shed - July 2001

Cleared area ready for transportainer First we needed to establish the new home for the transportainer. Louie leveled this area (removed stumps etc.)
chaining back-hoe to the transportainer We needed to chain up the transportainer to the back hoe.
Dragging the transportainer

Dragging the transportainer

Look at those tracks....what a smooth road.
Then Louie started to drag the transportainer down the original (old) road.

Use your imagination - it's moving! The dogs were quite interested - this is the best photo I could get to capture your imagination that this thing really is moving!
The transportainer reaches its new home Nearly there - at this point, there was a lot of maneuvering.
