Sweet Tarts

Spike snickered. He was still evil, he was. Bloody gits could say what they wanted, but he was still the Big Bad.

He straightened up, stretching his back. He'd been curled over his work for a long while, making sure each little diabolical piece was perfect. After all, if he wanted to be really evil, he had to make sure it was perfect. And he was evil. Ergo, perfect.

He shot an evil sneer at the door. The boy would be back, soon. He was bloody glad the Harris boy had stopped chaining him. He couldn't exactly bite the boy. Not that he wanted to. Well, he kind of did. Just to shut the whelp up.

He bent back over his task. Wanted to finish this and hide it before the boy came back. It wasn't ready, yet. He wanted to launch his evil plan when the time was right. Wouldn't be nearly as evil if he did it too soon.

He put down the small nail file, and the red pen, and then put the last little Goody in the large bag, then sealed the bag with a twist-tie. Then he put the bag back in Harris' cupboard, and flicked on the TV. Time for Passions, it was. He snickered again. Cor, he really was evil. No little zappy-gadget was gonna turn him into a poof. He was the Big Bad.

*~*~*

"I've brought Candy!" cried Xander, pulling out the large grab of Sweet-Tarts from his knap-sack. Willow jumped up from Giles' couch.

"Yay! Sugary nibblets!" She cried, stepping toward him. She wore a red sweater with a large pink heart on the front, dressed for the season.

"I love Valentine's day," Buffy gushed, gently squeezing Riley's hand. She smiled up at him, her eyes warm.

"And there's candy!" Willow repeated happily. She watched eagerly as Xander emptied the small heart candies into a large bowl, then quickly snatched one up. She read it, excitedly, and then her face fell. "Xander!" she cried, dismayed.

"What?" he said, defensively.

"Th-this! Why would you scratch out the words and put...THIS on here?!" she said, growing angry.

"I didn't put anything on there!" He reached over and plucked it from her hand, and read it. Once upon a time, the heart had said "love me". However, the word "love" had been filed off, and replaced with something much more lewd and suggestive, written in red felt pen. Xander gaped at the heart, then grabbed several more from the bowl. He read them to himself, his face getting redder and redder. Each little candy had been changed to suggest something lewd or disgusting. In "hard luck", the L had been replaced with an F. "I love you" was replaced with a very lewd picture. And "kiss my lips" was changed to "kiss my arse". Xander's head shot up to see Spike, now chained to Giles' armchair, grinning at him in triumph. Xander grinned, suddenly, and grabbed the bowl. Then he took handfuls of the ruined candies, and pelted Spike with them.

"Bloody hell!" Spike cried, trying to duck away from the hard candies. "Stop that!"

"What did you do that for?" Willow asked him, also grabbing a handful of candies and throwing them at the blonde vampire.

"Because I'm evil!" Spike declared, as though talking to a small child.

"You're evil. That's why you wrote lewd, disgusting things on Sweet Tarts?" Buffy said, trying not to laugh.

"Bloody right." The scoobies took one look at Spike's serious expression, then burst out laughing.
