“This I say then, walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary one to the other...” (Galations 5:16-17) And here in is one of the great dilemas that we face as believers, as we can see from these verses in the 5th chapter of Galations. Try as we might, you and I will often encounter a spiritual tug of war, between our two natures. Paul had these opposing realms in mind when cautioning us, as well as those to whom he wrote, about this element of spiritual warfare. The apostle himself was certainly no stranger to the effects of this type of battle. Yet he remained a victor throughout his earthly life and ministry. And we can too if we will follow Paul’s example; allowing ourselves to be led and directed by the Spirit of God and His word.
