Ask And You Shall Recieve

“If ye abide in Me and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.” (John 15:7) If you and I are born-again believers, everyday can be and usually is, a new challenge. That’s especially true if we are fulfilling our God-given call in the church. Even though we are not of this world, we are still subject to it’s problems, be they physical, financial, or spiritual. The good news is, however, that we don’t have to be ruled or ever over-whelmed by these natural laws anymore. In the above verse from John the 15th chapter, Jesus Himself reveals to us the solution to any difficulty we might encounter. Ask what you will (Vs 7). But He doesn’t stop there. Rather, He goes on to tell us, in no uncertain terms, that it will be done for us. No if’s, and’s, or but’s about it. According to Jesus, we have the right as believer’s to petition the throne and recieve answers to our reuests. Why then, do so few of us recieve the answers which we seek? Because we often fail to meet the conditions which open up the windows of heaven. First of all we need to understand the principle that Jesus is presenting in this verse; because it is a key to all the other promises of God in scripture, under the new covenant. As believers He says we need to abide in Him, putting Him first in our lives as the living word, and thus allowing the scriptures to become our only truth brings us into perfect fellowship with the Father and Holy Spirit as well. By simply fulfilling this part of our walk with Him, we can be confident that, whatsoever we ask shall be done unto us. Praise His Holy Name. “And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him and He in him, and hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the spirit which He hath given us. (1 John 3:24)
