What You Kids Can Do!

Don't Go Fishing! ~ Would you like to get a hook caught in your lip and be dragged out of your home? I didn't think so. Be kind to our underwater friends and leave them where they belong.

Recycle As Much As Possible! ~ Before you throw things away, remember that paper, glass, and most plastics can be recycled. When you recycle you waste a lot less!

Share Your Toys! ~ There are a lot of kids who are less fortunate than you are. You and your friends can collect toys for a shelter in your area and put a smile on the kids' faces!

Start A Compost Pile! ~ When you compost your leftover food (fruits & veggies & plants only) it turns into rich, nutritious soil that can be used in the gardens. What flowers wouldn't love that?

Leave Our Friends Where They Belong! ~ When you go to places like the beach or on a hike, you may be tempted to bring home some "souvenires". Wild creatures like frogs, slugs, snails, snakes, bugs, and more don't like or belong in human homes. Please leave them where you find them.

Walk or Ride! ~ When you drive a vehicle, a lot of toxins are put into the air. That can cause global warming (or the greenhouse effect)which has horrible effects on our planet. So intead of getting a ride somewhere, ride your bike or walk instead. You'll not only help the environment, but you'll get lots of exercise too!

Don't Waste Water! ~ When you brush your teeth, don't leave the water running. If you use a mug for rinsing, you'll save about 80% of the water you would have used! Also try to use less water in all other things you do.

Re-use Containers! ~ If you take a lunch to school, buy a re-useable container so that you don't throw out bags everyday. When you bring drinks on a picnic, use old plastic bottles instead of buying new ones. And always make sure you clean up after yourself!

Get Your Whole Family Involved! ~ Tell your parents that you want to make things better in your home, community, and around the world. Ask them to help you. If you want, you can show them this website! Make it a family effort!
