I think many people have asked themselves this. I honestly don't REALLY know, but we all have our theories.
Here MY theory:
I think that Snipeshooter is Patrick. Why??? Well, when We see Patricks mother, he moves behind her where she cannot see him. Then, he just looks at her. He looks like he's about to say something, and he really wants to, but then decides that he just can't. He can't let his mom know where he is. He feels bad about it, but he just can't go back to that life!!! Well, that's my theory. Stupid, but its what I've always thought!
Erika's Theory
"I think it's Spot. Spot's father was abusive, so he decides to leave home before he gets killed.
I thought up Spot because when
Patrick's mother is singing all the newsies shrug and pretend like they
don't know anything and change the subject. The only one who was missing in
that scene that was a newsie was Spot."
Greta's Theory
"My secret suspision is that Patrick is really Spot's
identical twin (hey we all need a
dream!)"
Leah's Theory
"Patrick looks almost exactly like Mush and I'm going
to marry him. That's all you need to know"
Poison's Theory
"Patrick is a figment of that ladies imagination.
She's crazy b/c she had a son named Patrick, but he died very soon
after he was born. That lady insists that he ran away, and now that
he's old enough, she thinks he's a newsie. She spends all day,
everyday looking at newsies, trying to see if one
will answer to Patrick"
