Ian's Navy Experience .....
I intend to do a page of my duty related stations during my 27 years with the Navy and expand this to reach as many ships and shipmates as possible. OF COURSE, STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION....
I began my Navy career on the 31st of August in 1965. I remember it well. Standing there in the median strip of the San Diego Airport waiting for the bus to take a large group of enlistees, all from Minnesota to the shock of their lives! I spent the next 9 weeks under close supervision at the Navy Training Command in San Diego. What a rude awakening for a kid fresh out of high school (Columbia Heights Minnesota, Class of '64).
