Departure: 8:50 central standard time Friday June 8 - Waterloo, Iowa
The 2001 edition of the Iowa Tigers ascended into Oakland Hill's Country club at approximately 8:00 p.m. eastern standard time Friday June 8, 2001.

After the grand tour by Supt. Messerly the team checked into the Best Western and then had pizza and beer for a late supper. After supper vice-president Larry and general manager - Craig retired for the evening.

President Bruce was left in full control of the team. After the evening social the president and the team left Ben off at his house and arrived at the motel to end our first day of practice.

Saturday June 9, 2001 - team meeting at Ben's house and met the new member of the team Melissa. President Bruce gave her and Ben team jersey's and we headed for breakfast. No one could miss us in our bright orange Iowa Tiger shirts.

Everywhere we went people wanted to know who we were, so we told them,
we are the Iowa Tigers, the mighty, mighty Tigers.

After chicken and burgers for breakfast, and stocking the coolers we headed for the ball park. The first car in the lot and 50 ft from the stadium. We had a great view!!!! No one could miss us!!! During our three+ hours of tailgating we met many unique Detroit natives. Can man Daniel became one of our best friends. At approximately 4:30 we entered the stadium. We started with seats in left field but they did not last long. Vice-president Larry found good seats in the handicap section and that is where we stayed for most of the game. After the game we tailgated and got a limousine ride to the local pub. After that to the country western bar. At approximately 3:00a.m eastern standard time we voted to start home. That is a short summary of our trip. Running out of room on this mailing. Will have a few comments on another mailing. The VP will appreciate your additions and comments. Reply to all.

Also forgot to ask the General Manager a request for next year. Would the Iowa DOT please request that the Illinois DOT have porto-potties on their interstate highways for the Iowa Tigers where long delays are possible.
