Crystal Lake
This was the first site that Eurasian watermilfoil was found in Iowa in 1993. Crystal Lake is found in Hancock County. The Crystal Lake has 244 surface acres. This lake was treated with SONAR in 1993. The lake has been checked four times since the it was sprayed and had not been found to be infested ever since. Yet, the lake in now infested with curly-leaved pondweed Potamogeton crispus. This map shows the location of the lake.
