St. Benidicts Ponds

St. Benidicts ponds are found southeast of Algona or directly south of St. Benidict(map below). These ponds were found to first to be infested in 1994. The ponds were first sprayed in 1994 with SONAR. Then in 1997 the ponds were survied again and milfoil was found in the rear ponds. The area was sprayed in 1998 again with Diquat. The ponds were last checked in 1999 and they were found to be infested again. This area is extreemely difficult to get a water volume on because of the drainage ditch that is moving through the pond. This ditch naturally do not flow through the ponds, but has not been fixed. Once the drainage is fixed, then a good kill will take hold.
