Prequels: Episode Two
Although George Lucas has stated that he would not direct Episode Two, speculation still remains on who will direct. Names that are coming up are Luc Besson, Frank Darabont and David Finder.
Luc Besson, director of many prestigious projects, including The Professional, La Femme Nikita and The Fifth Element. He is known for his ruthlessness in keeping the storylines secret and is exactly what kind of director George Lucas needs.
Frank Darabont has directed The Shawshank Redemption and the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (TV). David Finder has directed Alien 3 and Seven.
In Episode 2, the famed Clone Wars should erupt, orchestrated by the evil genius of Senator Palpatine. It is rumored that he will try to take advantage of this oppertunity to wage a personal war against the Old Republic from within, taking total control for himself and replacing an ineffectual government that's left unprotected by the Jedi Knights.
Cast list for Episode Two is not ready, but it is definate that Jake Lloyd's role (Anakin Skywalker) will be recast and it is likely that Natalie Portman's role (Young Queen Thenna) will be recast as well, although it is rumored that Natalye Portman might remain for Episode Two.
