When will the Prequels start?

The word has is that Episode One starts 32 years before ANH. Episode Two is to start 22 years before, and Episode Three will end about 20 years before ANH, around the birth of Luke and Leia.

Prequel opening rumor

The opening scene of Episode One is on Coruscant as seenat the end of ROTJ, the Special Edition, in order to form a "link" to make a connection between thge two trilogies.

An underwater battle in Episode One?

Stories persist that a spectacular underwater battle between Young Queen Thenna's people (named the "Naboo") and a group of intruders ("Nimoudians") invading her palace. Apparently, the Nimoudians break through the Queen's defenses with a legion of shape-changing skeletal droids (possibly called the "Gungans"), totally rendered with CGI. Rumors mention that Anakin will meet Obi-Wan to fight along-side him, defending the Young Queen's homeworld.

Possibly before the battle ensues, Anakin, described as a mechanical genius and extraordinary pilot by Obi-Wan and George Lucas, even to the extent that he was more advanced in piloting than those twice his age, enjoys a pod race through the streets of the Tatooine sity Mos Espa while spectators watch from bleachers.

New Jedi fashion tips

As of yet unconfirmed reports state that Ewan McGregor sports braids in his hair for his portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

ILM is said to have designed 12 "Sith Lord" helmets based on Darth Vader's. Are these the look of the dark jedi, or are they for Anakin?

Who is Darth Maul?

Darth Maul is a Dark Jedi, a Sith Lord who will appear in the Prequels. But, who is he? He has an official Star Wars site with his name www.darthmaul.com, but other than that, nothing official has been released. But, it is rumored that Darth Maul is a Dark Jedi who challenges Qui-Jinn Gon's (Liam Neeson) Jedi students to a deul at the desert wastes of Tatooine.

Samuel L. Jackson - Calrissian or Windu?

Rumors persist that Samuel L. Jackson's character is one Mr. Calrissian, while others contend that his name is Mace Windu. Either way, his character is a Jedi Master who shares the majority of his screen time with Yoda.

What about good ole' dad?

Anakin's father is completely absent in all of the prequel news. Could Lucas be planning another shocker (a la ESB)?

See-through See-Threepio?

Numerous rumors have stated that C-3PO (aka See-Threepio) will appear in CGI with a transparent exterior, requiring only the vocal talents of Anthony Daniels. Also, crew members have reportedly nicknamed the lovable golden droid 'see-through See-Threepio'. It is rumored that the CGI C-3PO will have a minor role in Episode One because of the need for CGI whenever the droid appears onscreen.

Anthony Daniels has hired by Lucasfilm after principal photography was finished on Episode One.

The return of Boba Fett?

Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett) has been dropping by the set of Episode One (although he has denied early rumors of Boba Fett piloting the Millenium Falcon, he hasn't denied that Boba Fett will be in the Prequels).

Jedi Council

The official Star Wars site has many sketches of a 'Jedi Council Chamber', as well as a 'Jedi Tower' and a 'Jedi Balcony'. Word has it that the 'Jedi Council' votes on political decisions, as well as deciding who gets to become a Jedi. One of the reasons why the Empire is able to take hold of the galaxy is due to the Council's in-house bickering, as rumors have it.

Double the trouble

One Dark Jedi is said to have a double-bladed lightsaber staff which comes apart into two individual sabers. Word has it that he battles both Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Naboo hanger during the invasion.

Will the Katana fleet make a cameo?

According to an inside source, the 200-dreadnaught Katana fleet from Timothy Zahn's novel may appear, although Patrice Girod and David Oghia (editors of the Star Wars Insider's French edition)have stated that Lucasfilm won't use any ideas from spin-off comics and novels, although Lucasfilm has already used the name 'Coruscant' for the capital of the Empire/Old Republic, and that originated in a series of novels.

Mimes in Episode One?

Michel Courtamanche, a French-Canadian mime actor, is helping ILM staffers create new creatures and is removed to be doing motions for a computer-generated character, possibly Jar Jar Binks.
