About Me

This is my tatoo. I got it October 18th, 2003. It is called the Witches Claw, it is a triple goddess representation. Below it in Irish Gaelic it says Eternity.

My name is Alicia. My magickal name is NightShadeMoon which I go by most often on the web with my Pagan friends as well as with my local Pagan friends and the Goddess and God. I am 24. I have been a practitioner of Wicca for about 13 years, but have been studying it since I was about 8. I’m a solitary eclectic practitioner. That means I’m no specific kind of Wicca--Just all of them put together pretty much ;-). But I lean more towards the ancient Pagan or Shaman ways. Wicca has been an understanding for me. Most of my family is Lutheran (at least they don’t mind my choice in religion) and I guess I never found it believable.

Wicca made more sence to me. 1 of my other sisters is practicing Wicca but sometimes she really doesn't seem like she cares enough to really practice. My twin sister is practicing herbalism and elemental magick. My youngest sister has decided to remain Christian like my parents (except for when she is around people she wants to "show off" to).

I have always felt that Paganism... or at least something that has to do with Nature was the way for me, I also love to help people with herbs, remedies, and with my physical possibilities. Even at the young age of 4, I was always out helping in the house and the yard and when I wasn’t doing that I was in my backyard imagining that I was in the middle of the woods going around picking various plants (which at the time I had no clue what they were) and smashing them together in water (trying to make oils but didn’t know then that you needed another oil to take out the other plants oils) and I was putting them in bottles from my moms bottle collection and I would go around rubbing the stuff on things I was pretending to be injured or sick people.

I always dreamed of magick and being with the animals and the plants...talking to the animals and even talking to the plants ( I have a lot of animals so I would talk to them), Later I found out that talking to your plants is healthy for them. all these things I didn’t know was good or right to do I did. I have determined that maybe I was Pagan in another life, or maybe it was myself or the Goddess guiding me to the path that most fitted the way I felt about the world.

My Cat, I considered her my soulmate I swear understood complete English (or atleast understood me) because I talked to her so much, I could sometimes know what she wanted too, when she'd meow or even when I just look into her eyes I knew what she wanted or what she was telling me. When I did spiritual work she was always in the room with me, because not only are cats (as well as dogs) good detectors for spiritual energy , and can since their presence, but I could also understand her more during that time...like through the spiritual energy I also got energies she'd be giving off to tell me something. This cat Passed away from old age in March (2003) She was 20 human years. I will always remember her, she was my first cat and i think it is safe to say that i was her first human (in this life anyway) Since then a new cat has found his way to me. I called him Odin..actually he more or less named himself. When i asked him what he wanted to be named he jumped up and knocked my understanding runes book off the shelf and it opened to an image of Odin hanging upside down on the Yew tree while the runes poured from the sky. He is at my heals when i walk around the house and at the foot of my bed when i sleep at night. Though he is also black, i didnt intend it to be so. He was neglected, not being taken care of or fed, so one day a friend dropped him off to me when i was at work -- I guess my twin said something to him about the cat-- and Odin has been a part of me ever since. Though i dont have the same connection with him as i did with my old cat, I do have a different type of connection, in some ways it seems like a stronger connection. This cat has a defined personality unlike any other cat i've ever met before. (and i've had many in my life, 9 still now at my parents house)

I have a few pets, I love animals. 2 cats, 1 dog, and 2 Bearded Dragons(Lizards)

I am a very gitty person all the time and am hardly ever mad or sad or anything like that. Some say i'm a little off or not all there but hrmph what do they know. Im exciting, adventerous, i want to try almost everything at least once. Though i do have some fears (like heights when im not in control, and driving in the snow) I dont let a whole lot of things bother me, and the off the wall comments are fun. I have a dark sort of sarcastic sence of humor as well as a light goofy (and sometimes immature) one.

I dress however I feel. That’s a great variety of things besides name brand stuff like Tommy Hill figure and Abrocrombie and Fitch....Who can afford them with these gas prices!

I love being in nature, like just waking through the woods and stuff like that, writing poetry, drawing, doing spiritual stuff, reading up on different cultures, religions, and of course herbalism since I have just about every kind of herb that Grows in the Midwest in my yard (unfortunately I live in Iowa) , I also like reading up on other types of Pagan religions and even how all the religions we have now came to be. I also love finding things I can make something into. And i am a history nut. History Channel? Bring it on.

I have found tons of fallen sticks and such that I have made wands and incense burners out of. I have also made a chalice out of red clay and some candle holders and much more. I like my creativity because it always gives me great ideas. I also love making mosaic pots and other such things. Stained Glass (a short lived hobby but cool) and a mosaic mirror with a dolphin on 1 side in a sea surrounding including a real sea shell and a real sand dollar and the other side is a Celtic style tree with a sky background including real acorns and river rock. I also made a picture completely out of crushed glass (like the mirror) of my Spirit Guide with crushed glass of appropriate colors.

My favorite kind of music is mostly Heavy Metal but i also like Rock, Classic Rock, Newage, Native American and Celtic music. My favorite bands are Korn, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd, Ozzy, Slipknot, Stone Sour, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Rammstein, Marylin Manson, Staind, Enigma, Led Zepplin, Guns n Roses, Van Halen, Queens Rÿche, Queen, Jewel, Janus Joplin, AC/DC, Enya, Emiliana Torrini, Chevelle, Tool, Nine Inch, Nails, Evanesscense, Sarah McLachlan, Loreena McKennit and much more that would take forever to list. So quite a variety but I'm not picky towards some specific kinds of music the only music I cant stand is polka (my grandma listens to it), Rap (its just annoying)and teenybopper bands like N'stink, Brittney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Hanson..etc.

I love messing around with my computer; finding new stuff to add to it, fix it, making my web page beautiful, enjoyable, and informative.

I love to make things grow so I'm always helping out in the yard. I love helping people and animals and making people feel better and always happy. Some of my friends say my grittiness is contagious cuz they can be the gloomiest in the world and I’m in their presence being all happy and hyper it makes them happy.

I love Drawing Celtic Knots. I also love to sing and play the piano. I’ve written 4 newage kinds of songs and won 2nd place in the clavanova festival 3 outta the 4 years I’ve been entered in them.

I cant wait to live the new and interesting experiences that await me now, graduating college and entering the real world.

I’m very easily amused so about anything entertains me. That’s about all I can think about to write about me now. My life changes every day as I learn new things and experience new days.

I graduated College with an Associates in PC/Internet Programming and i will probably minor in Massage Therapy, AromaTherapy, and Accupuncture and maybe Psychology. (just because that sounds like a lot of fun..)

hmm...Archaeology sounds like fun....so does spinning in circles...

In mid-October 2004 I moved to Ohio, it's not Iowa; but it is an Adventure. I roomed with one of my friends i knew there....well in the process him and I started dating and now we are engaged, we are planning on a Fall marriage in 2007

Well anyway i didnt like Ohio....well actually i loved it, but i hated my job there and there werent any other jobs that would pay the money we needed to survive available there, so Both of us decided to move back to Iowa and now we live in the same quiet town i grew up in.

Alright, get this, We moved back to Ohio in Feb of 2007. This will be our permanent home. I'm tired of moving.
