My Journey

It seems I have always been self-concious about my weight. At 5'1" I have always felt enormous the minute I put on any extra pounds at all. But my struggle really began in October of 1995. I had reached my highest weight of 195 pounds. To some, that may seem like a lot and to others who have been heavier, it may not seem so bad. Each person is different and some have "that number" on the scale that really makes them stop and think about where this unhealthy lifestyle is taking them. For me, it was seeing "195" on the scale and realizing that in another 5 pounds I would be at 200...a number I never dreamed I would even get close to with my weight.

So, I bought a Fastrack exercise machine and started drinking Sliim Fast because I didn't really know how to change my eating habits. And at the time, I really didn't want to have to think about what I was putting in my mouth...I wanted something easy. I lost 20 pounds before Christmas. Then I stopped doing the Slim Fast but kept up the exercise. I stayed around 175 pounds for 2 years and got really discouraged thinking this was it for me. I thought I was just destined to be overweight for the rest of my life. Then, in February of 1998, I found Richard Simmon's web site and it changed my life.
