Rubber Soul is my favorite Beatles album of all time.John Lennon was being influenced by Bob Dylan and his lyrics were becoming more meaningful and full of insight.He was putting his emotions and daily thoughts into music.The Beatles also began to use instruments other than the guitars,drums,piano,harmonica or handclaps.They introduced the sitar and many other instruments.
The Beatles as people were under rapid development.To let out the frustrations of Beatlemania they turned to drugs as a refuge.Marijauna was the drug of choice at this time though.
Setting the Scene:
John and Cynthia Lennon had been married for three years.George was dating Pattie Boyd.Paul was dating Jane Asher.Ringo had married Maureen Cox the previous year.The Beatles now have two movies under their belts.They've reached high popularity in America and across the globe.They've played a sold out,packed show at Shea Stadium in New York.They've won awards,appered on hundreds of television and radio shows,been awarded the M.B.E. and virtually considered GODS.
