One of the great loves of my life has always been food. Understatement there. I started cooking when I was very young and had two of the best teachers any girl could ask for. Both my mother and my father were great cooks and, although my mother did most of the cooking for our large family, my dad could just as easily take his turn in the kitchen. My husband once told a friend that he actually married me for my fried chicken. Well, I don't very often make fried chicken anymore, unless you count oven-fried chicken. Bill, my husband, is on a modified kidney dialysis diet and I watch my fat intake because of a family trait to high cholesterol.
Over the past few years I have edited two community cookbooks in our small Iowa town, for fund raising causes, and greatly enjoy making new recipes along with the old tried and true ones. Below are some sites that supply standard fare and a few of the treats we all deserve once in awhile, just because.
