BLYTHE

James Jones Blythe was born near Glasgow, Scotland. He began working in the coal mines in Scotland at the age of 10 after the death of his mother, Jane Ellen Jones. The Blythe part of his name is somewhat of a mystery. Grandpa Blythe said that his father's name was Daniel Blythe, but his birth certificate says that his was an illegitimate birth.
