DEATH OF ALEC ALLERDICE at his home in Mystic. Born August 6, 1848; passed to his eternal rest June 6, 1924. He was married in early manhood to Mis Mary Elizabeth Rizor, June 6, 1871, in the old Bonnifield House (which is now called the Old Settlers Cabin) by Rev. S.T. Horton, one of the noted ministers of the day. . . Eight children, three having preceded the parents in death, Dora passed away when a babe; Jesses was accidentally killed in a fall from a train in early manhood, and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis died from heart failure. . . Remaining are Mrs. Kate Parson of Mankato, Kan., Charles of Seattle, Wash., Willie of Mankato, Kan., Hugh, and Mable Blythe of Mystic. . Laid to rest in the beautiful Mystic Cemetery beside loved ones.

Mystic, Iowa; Freight Crew Hand, Former Mystic Man, Dies in Ottumwa; Injured Years Ago; Body Brought Here for Burial at Highland
A former resident of Mystic, Hugh M. Allerdice, who resided in Ottumwa for 15 years, died Sunday morning at the Ottumwa Hospital where he had been taken following a cerebral hemorhage. Mr. allerdice had been employed for 22 years in the Milwaukee freight service. His home was at 1818 Gladstone Street.
Mr. Allerdice, it will be remembered, sustained injuries in a train wreck at the Rathbun crossing nine years ago and had not been in good health since, and was forced to quit work last January.
Following services held at the Johnson funeral home in Ottumwa at 10:30 a.m. the body was brough to Mystic for burial in Highland Cemetery. Funeral services were held here at the Christian Church, being conducted by Rev. Bruce B. Matthews, pastor at the Davis Street Christian Church, Ottumwa.
Hugh M. Allerdice was born in Jefferson County and was the sone of Alexander and Mary E. Allerdice. he is survived by his wife, Mildred, a stepson, Richard, and the following brothers and siters: Mrs. Mable Blythe of Centerville; Mrs. Kate Parsons of mankato, Kansas, William of Memphis, Mo., and Charles of Auburn, Washington. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother. Mr. Allerdice was a member of the Brotherhood of the Railway.

Mary Bankhead Allerdice was born near Glasgow, Scotland, May 11, 1830 and died of paralysis at the hoem of her son Hugh, in Pleasant Plain, June 9, 1906. Came to this country with her parents in 1836 and settled in Boston, Mass. Married William Allerdice in 1851 (note:St. Louis, Missouri); seven children, 5 of whom are yet living: Mrs. Jennie Snook of Grand Junction, Mrs. Marion Smith of Lockridge, H.M. Allerdice of Pleasant Plain; M.N. Allerdice and Mrs. Grace Kleinhan of Lockridge. James Allerdice died in infancy and William died February 5, 1905. The husband and father died in October 1879 (note: actually September 1880). Besides caring for her own children, she cared for two steop-children: Mrs. Wesley Herrold of Fonda, and Alex Allerdice of Glendale. Three sisters, one brother and many granchildren and great- granchildren. Internment: Lockridge Cemetery.

JESSE ALLERDICE KILLED BY TRAIN, June 1915
The funeral services for Jesse Allerdice of Memphis, Mo., who was killed by the cars at Hannibal, Mo., June 20the, were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Parsonville Church and the remains were interred in the cemetery near there.
Mr. Allerdice who was 25 years of age was born at Glendale and has also resided at Beckwith. About fifteen years ago the family moved to Mystic and later to Memphis, Mo., where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Allerdice now reside. His parents did not know he was in Hannibal until they heard of the accident.
The service was in charge of Rev. Garielson. He was a nephew of Malcomb N. Allerdice who resides southwest of Glendale.
Jesse Winfield Allerdice was born near Lockridge on January 1st, 1890, and died at Hannibal, Mo. June 20th, 1915. He was twenty-five years old. He leaves to mourn his sad death his father and mother, three sisters and three brothers and a large circle of friends in this community where he spent most of his youth. He was a member of the Baptist Church near Memphis, Mo. A number of relatives accompanied the remains to Glendale.
Those present at the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Allerdice and son Hugh and George Davis of Memphis, Mo., his siter Mrs. Blythe of Mystic, Robert Mickay and son Charles of Mystic, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hannah of Fairfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Allerdice of Pleasant Plain.

FORMER MYSTIC RESIDENT DIES
MYSTIC: William Allerdyce, 76, well known former resident of this community, died Monday afternoon, January 13, at a resthome in Maysville, MO.
Mr. Allerdyce is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mable Blythe of Mystic.
Funeral services will be held at Tilyaker Funeral Home in Maysville, with burial in the Maysville Cemetery. Mrs. Blythe, grandson, Mike, and two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Kelly of Albia, and Mrs. Nell Miller of Centerville, will leave early Wednesday morning to attend the funeral. (This would have been 1959.)
