WASHINGTON (AP) -- The remains of six American servicemen killed during the Vietnam War have been identified and are being returned to their families, the Pentagon said Friday. The six were identified as Air Force Capt. Dean A. Wadsworth, of Clarendon, Texas; Marine Staff Sgt. Harold E. Reid, of Salt Lake City; Navy Lt. David L. Hodges, of Chevy Chase, Md.; Air Force Lt. Col. Lewis M. Robinson, of Saginaw, Mich.; Air Force Capt. Douglas K. Martin, of Tyler, Texas; and Air Force Capt. Samuel L. James, of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Marine Staff Sgt. Reid disappeared Sept. 13, 1967, after completing guard duty at an observation post near a river in Quang Nam Province, the Pentagon account said. Local informants told US and Vietnamese investigators in 1993 about an American Marine the Viet Cong had shot near the river. The burial site was excavated in 1996.
