But then in 1999 the Warriors, with the same lineup from the two championship years of 1997 and 1998, failed to have any real success starting after the All-Star break...and besides the Lightning, who dropped out halfway through 1999, they were the worst team in the league. The season ended badly as they were swept easily by the Titans in the 1999 HBL Playoffs. Then, in 2000, they garnered last place with a 4-12 record, as Dee had a horrible shooting slump through much of the season, and he and Shooter did little on the defensive end as well. They did get it together in time for a stirring Week 8, in which they had a scintillating overtime victory against the Lightning, and a near-comeback against the Titans which saw them put 75 points up (including 48 in the second half). They then almost advanced to the 2000 HBL Finals, taking a 1-0 lead in the series vs. the Titans (and leading Game 2 with less than 2 minutes left) before losing it in three games. In 2005, Dee Hartley returns with new teammate and former Titan Derek "Domino" Hendrickson as they attempt to bring the Warriors back to glory.
