FLEET DATA: The USS Epimetheus is a one of a kind Starship, the prototype for the Epimetheus Class starships, the 'afterthought' of the Prometheus project. Which were designed when the Prometheus' multi-vector attack mode looked unfeasible to build reliabely. The Epimetheus was only half built when Doctor Dubois of Utopia Planitia solved the Multi-Vector Assault problems and the Epimetheus was shelved.
It remained that way until Doctor Sebastian Styles, requested the ship be completed with the new high-end systems slated for future vessels, allowing the Epimetheus to become a test bed for these systems. It was aproved and in two-years the ship was ready for service as a medium explorer instead of a Heavy Cruiser like it's more heavily armed cousin the Promethius. Though technologicly the Epimethius is superior. It's most notable features being a new bio-gel pack computer system and increased maneuverability.
