Captian* James Hansen, CO USS Backlash. The 26 year old son of Admiral J.P Hansen of the 22nd Fleet, his son has just been recently transfered to Fleet duty from Starfleet Command. Since then he has mananged to ride the strange twists of fate that have struck the crew formerly of the USS Galileo to promotion. Dispite a few near-failures that haunt him to this day. Personaly, James has been successful, he has maintained his friendship with his best friend, Duran Abandar, his Intel officer, married the gorgeous Chief of Ops on Habeshian Aylynn Vanx-Hansen, and has made quick friends with most of the others in his command staff, Commander Daystrom especially.

James Hansen is a very friendly and open individual who does his best to get along with everyone he meets. He is an extremely dedicated officer and Captain who takes great concern in the safety of his crew. James also exhibits a very impressive moral strength. Being young and having undergone some very hard trials, he does suffer from doubts about his judgement, but has, overall, proven to be very capable and sound in his decisions. James is also an individual of deep feelings, who feels strongly the personal attachments to those who are very close to him.
James was born in the city of Vancouver, Earth, and from as early as he could remember, wanted to follow his family into Starfleet. As a child, James was well liked and this continued to be the case when he joined the Academy. As a natural leader, he excelled and proved himself repeatedly. While he suffered in relationships at the hands of his career during the Academy and his tour of duty at Starfleet Command, the abiding friendship he had formed with his quad-mate, Duran Abandar lasted well.
After graduating from the Academy, James served as a Tactical Advisor at Starfleet Command to vessels returning from the early conflicts and skirmishes of the Dominion War. He distinguished himself in his duties and rose quickly to the rank Lt. Cmdr. His stay at Starfleet Command was extended due to the manipulations of James’ father, and even with the loss of his mother during the Dominion War, James eventually felt that he could no longer stay in what he termed Desk Fleet and began his campaign to get himself into a shipboard position. James wouldn’t be denied and his repeated applications for reassignment were eventually processed and what he had longed for was finally within his; a shipboard position.
James’ first assignment in the actual fleet was as First Officer of the heavy explorer, USS Galileo. After it was boarded and almost completely destroyed, James was reassigned to the USS Epimethius, along with the rest of the Galileo’s crew, and was once again First Officer. Then, effecting his third assignment in two months, James captured the USS Backlash with the help of Adam Daystrom, James Benson and Matthew (a sentient AI). Currently, James enjoys the brevet rank of Captain and commands the USS Backlash and her crew.
