The north end of 282 is a vestige of when US 20 was two lanes, half a mile north of present-day 20, much like IA 297.

Cedar Rock is a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1950. According to the 1998 Iowa Travel Guide, Wright also "designed the ... furnishings, selected the carpets and window treatments, and even chose the accessories. The 11-acre site also includes a river pavilion, council fire and entrance gate, all designed by Wright."

The junction sign on 282 incorrectly said you were just coming to it.

Ahead, county roads D47 and W35 cross the Wapsipinicon River together on the "narrow bridge".

The Monti sign is the same in both pictures, but county road signs have now been added.
