Be able to correctly locate and mark boundaries for timber removals and correctly identify and mark trees to be removed for timber sales

Student will correctly determine and mark trees to be removed for a timber sale and mark the associated timber sale boundary within +/- 10% of accuracy

Be able to properly collect and input field data into a GPS unit for acreage determination

Student will correctly navigate, and input GPS data into a collection device for a timbered stand to determine acreage estimation and be within +/- 5% of the actual acreage

Students are effectively learning how to input data into a GPS unit for the purpose of forest measurement

 

Correctly determine and enter data for forest inventory volume and value determination

 

Be able to correctly determine in the field information to be entered into a hand-held data recorder to be used for volume and value determination

Student will correctly enter field measurements into a hand-held data recorder to be used for volume and value determination and be within +/- 5% of the actual volume and value
