Submission of competitive application for grant funding to a variety of funding sources.

 

 

Numbers of applications submitted, total dollar amount applied for, total dollar amount received, number of funding sources cultivated,

And number of faculty/staff involved in the planning process.

Numbers and amounts will meet or exceed past years and address the current needs of the college for strategic growth.

5 and 8, with the ultimate goal of addressing both 1 and 3.

Outcomes demonstrated a significant increase in all indicated assessment measures (documented in a Grant Summary spreadsheet in the grant office.  Encountered concerns over institutional grant management capacity.

Outcomes will be tracked for comparison and evaluation.  2008-09 priorities will include increasing personnel and physical resources needed to provide high quality grant management.

Facilitate the development of institutional capacity to successfully and reliably secure external grant funding.

 

 

Evidence of shared projects (between the grant department and the foundation), personnel records documenting new personnel dedicated to grant related activities, increased levels of faculty participation, and growing faculty responsibility for all elements of proposal development.

Numbers involved in the process increased over 2006-07, with 8 additional personnel and significant shared involvement in planning a large scale Title III initiative (documented in Title III files and reports to Admin Council).

These new personnel will continue to be involved in the Title III planning process.  A new group will begin TRIO SSS planning.  Grant Dept. SPD funds will be used when available to provide prof. development.

Facilitate the development of institutional procedures to increase, manage, and sustain, the grant development process.

Documented through the addition of a dedicated Grant Department webpage on the College website, documentation of new grant development processes, and positive feedback from users of the new resources.

Evidence of a new webpage and newly developed procedures.  70% positive feedback from users of new resources.

5 and 8, with the ultimate goal of addressing both 1 and 3.

Webpage and procedures developed.  Procedures not yet on webpage or consistently implemented.  No user feedback collected to date.

Will put procedures on-line and consistently utilize.  Will create mechanisms for user feedback.
