Report of Assessment Findings for SLO # 3

Assessment Criteria/Expected Results: the average rating of student achievement in each performance area will be 3 or higher on a scale of 1-4.

Statement of Actual Results: students met expected results in all performance areas except mechanics. The average rating of student achievement in this area was 2.60.

Problems Encountered (if minimum standards were not met): several students experienced problems with mechanics, particularly with spelling and punctuation.

Actions Taken (such as curricular changes or improvements)/Recommendations for Further Action: students experiencing problems with mechanicswere scheduled for sessions in the Writing Center to receive support to improve their writing skills.
