Welcome to my page. I hope you will find it useful. I'm trying to expand it to include more information about Wicca as well as a few other things I'm interested in... like science fiction and fantasy. We'll see.
Anyway, I've never been very good at talking about myself. I'm interested in reading, writing, theatre (both acting & stagecrew), fencing, and, of course, Wicca. I live in the USA, but am hoping to live in the UK someday.
And since I really have little more to say, I'll just let you look at some of my quotes which have originated from my quote book.

Quotes

"The most important thing in life is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made." - George Burns.

"Life is like a box of chocolates; a cheap, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for." - The X-files.

"I've lived under situations where every decent man declared war first and I've lived under situations where you don't declare war. We've been flexible enough to kill people without declaring war." - Lt. General Lewis B. Hershey.

"Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die," - Mel Brooks.

“You must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions. To have such clarity you must lead a disciplined life. Only then will you know that any path is only a path, and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you to do. But your decision to keep on the path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. I warn you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question. This question is one that only a very old man asks. My benefactor told me about it once when I was young, and my blood was too vigorous for me to understand it. Now I do understand it. I will tell you what it is: Does this path have heart? All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush, or into the bush. In my own life I could say I have traversed long, long paths, but I am not anywhere. My benefactor's question has meaning now. Does this path have heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. Both paths lead nowhere; but one has heart, the other doesn't. One makes for a joyful journey; as long as you follow it, you are one with it. The other will make you curse your life. One makes you strong; the other weakens you.”

"God plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players (i.e. everybody) to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch - dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules and who smiles all the time." - Good Omens, Neil Gaimon & Terry Pratchet.

"Some people are only alive because murder is illegal."

“Summers blooms blow into winter once more
Speaking of things that have gone long before
Maybe once, when our childhood was young, we were free
But now we’re moved in ways we can’t see.
Caught up in a game of daring and chance
Moving in a step though we don’t know the dance
What now is a slave, a crime, or a war?
What does a death that was not done before?
We are but flashes of sun on the sea
Nothing will change, for all we may be
Heroes and gods may far wander their ways
But lost and forgotten shall we all end our days,”
– Villains By Necessity, Eve Forward.

“You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You've moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas, a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast a space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears, and the summit of his knowledge. You've just crossed over, this is the dimension of imagination.”

"Silence listens. Everything watches." - The Dark Shore, Adam Lee.

"At the centre of the Light there is a cold white flame, just as at the centre of the Dark there is a great black pit bottomless as the Universe," - The Grey King, Susan Cooper.

"Anything that happens, happens. Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen. Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, happens again. It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological order, though." - The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide, Douglas Adams.

“If I had my life to live over, I’d try to make more mistakes next time. I would relax, I would limber up, I would be crazier than I’ve been on this trip. I know very few things I’d take seriously any more. I’d certainly be less hygenic... I would take more chances, I would take more trips, I would scale more mountains, I would swim more rivers, and I would watch more sunsets. I would eat more ice cream and fewer beans. I would have more actual troubles and fewer imaginary ones. Oh, I’ve had my moments, and if I had to do it all over again, I’d have many more of them, in fact I’d try not to have anything else, just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of my day. If I had it to do all over again, I’d travel lighter, much lighter than I have. I would start barefoot earlier in the spring, and I’d stay that way later in the fall. And I would ride more merry-go-rounds, and catch more gold rings, and greet more people and pick more flowers and dance more often. If I had it to do all over again - but you see, I don't.” - Jorge Luis Borges

"Oh great, but not necessarily superior, being who dwells beyond this plane of existence and who is accessible only through prayer, meditation, or crystals, we salute you without thereby acknowledging that you are entitled to greater respect than that accorded any other endangered species. We hope to pass through your plane of existence at some point on our psychic journey to the same exalted status as marine mammals or even snail darters. Moreover, to the extent your design for the universe coincides with the U.S. Constitution and includes low-cost access to cable, we ask you to provide us our minimum daily requirement of essential vitamins and nutrients consistent with FDA guidelines, and when judging us be duly mindful or our status as victim, which provides full justification for what might appear on superficial examination to be felonious. In the same vein, we will endeavor to excuse and forgive those who have transgressed against us, with the possible exception of our parents, teachers, policemen and clergy about whom we have just resurrected disturbing memories. We ask all this in the name of your prophet ----------. [Here on alternating weeks substitute names drawn from the consensus of the class. Some suggestions for early in the year: L. Ron Hubbard, Ayatollah Khomeini, Patricia Ireland, Mike Wallace.]” - John F. Bramfeld, a lawyer in Urbana, Ill., as printed in "Wall Street Journal" Pg A-18 Thurs, Jan 12, 1995, contemplating what would happen to school prayer after it was filtered through the apparatus of politically correct educrats.

"Fate has more than one arrow. The gods wait behind cloud," - The Wicked Day, Mary Stewart.

"Humans seem to have a talent for thinking up bad stuff. It's built into the design, somehow. They're born into a world set against them in a thousand little ways, and then devote most of their energy at making it worse," - Good Omens, Neil Gaimon & Terry Pratchet.

"Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. For even the wise cannot see all ends." - Gandalf, The Lord of The Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien.

"Friends come and go but enemies accumulate," - When Your Attitude Stinks, Read This.

"On the heights, all paths are paved with daggers," - The Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan.

"It's always the best policy to tell the truth, unless of course you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome Ke Jerome.

"It is a rare mind indeed that can render the hitherto nonexistent blindingly obvious. The cry "I could have thought of that" is a very popular and misleading one, for the fact is that they didn't, and a very significant and revealing fact it is too." – Douglas Adams

“We each have within ourselves the ability to shape our own destinies. That much we understand. But, more important, each of us has an equal ability to shape the destiny of the universe. Ah, that you find more difficult to believe. But I tell you it is so. You do not have to be the leader of the Council. You do not have to be king or monarch or the head of a clan to have a significant impact on the world around you. In the vastness of the ocean, is any drop of water greater than another? No, you answer, and neither has a single drop the ability to cause a tidal wave. But, I argue, if a single drop falls into the ocean, it creates ripples. And these ripples spread. And perhaps - who knows - these ripples may grow and swell and eventually break foaming upon the shore. Like a drop in the vast ocean, each of us causes ripples as we move through our lives. The effects of whatever we do - insignificant as it may seem - spread out beyond us. We may never know what far-reaching impact even the simplest action might have on our fellow mortals. Thus we need to be conscious, all of the time, of our place in the ocean, of our place in the world, of our place among our fellow creatures. For if enough of us join forces, we can swell the tide of events - for good or for evil.”

"Doubt everything. Find your own light." - Last words of Gautama Buddha, in Theravada tradition
