Bruce continued his training for 5 years, before his coming to California at age 18. Thru-out his training he continually sought improvements, (to the dismay of many of his traditionalist Masters,) with the thought in mind that in reality, the odds of fighting someone on the street with the same Art forms as his, were slim to none. Bruce wanted to be able to learn a system that would be effective in all situations. Once in America, He started to devise his own system of fighting, by utilizing only the moves of many different styles, and eliminating the traditional forms that he felt plagued fluidity. This system was called Jeet Kune Do, and has become the prefered style of many elite fighters of today.
Physical conditioning was a way of life for Bruce Lee. He virtually trained from the time he woke up 'till the time he finally rested, and it is because of this exhaustive focus and dedication that he became the greatest Martial artist of all. Bruce would focus on a technique until it was performed flawlessly, and then he would try to improve on it even more. He would condition his muscle groups to be able to perform his moves faster and stronger than ever before. It has been said, that even despite his small 130 lb. frame, that Bruce lee was, pound for pound, one of the strongest men of his time. Bruce could side kick a 300 lb. heavy bag in the blink of an eye, and send it hurdling into the air to the extent of it's heavy chain containments, all from a standing, on guard position. During Martial Arts Demonstrations, he would call for high ranking stylists to work with him in a demonstration of his speed. He would tell the stylist what kind hit he would use, where he would apply the hit, and perform the hit from 8 to 10 feet away. No stylist was ever able to block his hits.
