8-21-01: I just got back from visiting Truman State University. It's a nice place; good library. I want to go to college so that my parents won't be scared of college kids. Because then i'll be one, and would they be scared of their own child?

On Brendan's last day for three months here in this tired city, we visited Bohr Park and sat on the playground and talked and looked at the blue sky. Then we went to his house and watched 'American Beauty'. On the car ride to Kirksville to-day I was talking about that movie with my mum, and my cousin Ann said, "That movie was so stupid." At first I was surprised, then I was angry. But now I'm just sad, because when one doesn't understand something, then they think it's stupid. And I would hope that Ann would know what true beauty was.
