Chapter 16

“Where have you been all night, and why didn’t you answer your cell phone?” Jas yelled as I opened the door.

“Calm down Jas. I was at the beach. I went there to get some peace and quiet and I guess I feel asleep.”

“Why didn’t you answer your phone?”

“It was in my car. Jas I’m sorry I didn’t call and tell you what I was doing.”

“It’s ok. I was just worried about you.” She stood up and walked over to me. “Will you tell me what happened yesterday?”

“Um…my brother has this sick obsession with trying to control my life. He thinks he needs to tell me how to run my life. Yesterday I told him off and this happened.” I softly touched my check. It was now very black and blue.

Jas hugged me. “Honey, I’m so sorry. I’m really sorry.”

“It’s not your fault. Don’t apologize. What’s going on with you and Jeff?”

Jas’s shoulders slumped. “They’re making a new album.”

“And?”

“That means we’re not going to be getting married within the next 3-5 years.” I hugged her.

“Oh, Jas. I’m sorry. I know how much you love him and how much you want to marry him.”

“I understand that he has to do what he loves, but I don’t know if I can wait forever.”

“The only advice I can give is talk to him and give him time.”

“I know. I know.”

“Well I’m going to get some more sleep. I’m so tired.”

“Ok. But you know you’re going to have tell me all about last night when you get up.” My mouth dropped open, and I turned and looked at her. “You have a glow about you and I’m not stupid. Now get some sleep.” She went back to working on the computer and I laid down and got some sleep.

At 5:00 the telephone rang. Jas answered it then woke me up. “Soph, it’s JC. He wants to talk to you.”

“Ok.” I grabbed the phone. “Hello?”

“Did I wake you up?”

“Yeah, but that’s ok. What do you need?”

“I wanted to ask you if you were with Justin last night? He wouldn’t tell us where he was last night. I was just a little worried.”

”Yeah, he was with me. We hung out here watching a movie. We fell asleep during the movie.”

“Oh. Ok. I was just worried.”

“JC who are you talking to?” Justin yelled in the background. “Are you talking to Soph. Give me the phone.”

“He’s stealing the phone from me. I’ll talk to ya later.”

“Hey babe. How ya feeling?”

I smiled at him. “Yeah I’m feeling great. Bye the way do you want to know the story I just told JC?”

“Yeah that would probably be a good idea.”

“I told him that you were over here and we were watching a movie and fell asleep.”

“Ok. Sounds good. So what do you want to do?”

“I don’t care. Anything if I’m with you.”

“How about you come over and we’ll hang out.”

“Ok. Give me time to shower and change and I’ll be over.”

“Ok. See ya.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” I hung up the phone and crawled down from my bed.

“So spill it girl.”

I looked at Jas. “How did you get so smart?”

“I was just born that way.”

I sat on the bed beside her. “Ok. I’ll tell ya but you have to promise me you won’t tell anyone. Justin doesn’t want anyone to know and you know how those guys find everything out.”

Jas laughed. “I promise not to say anything.” I told her everything that had happened. “Please tell me you used protection.” I kinda shook my head. “Girl, what were you thinking?”

“It’s not like it was planned or something like that. Plus I’m on the pill.”

Jas’s eyes widened. “You, sweet little Sophie, on the pill?”

“Yeah. I have been since last summer when Justin and I got back together.”

“You must have thought you were going to get some.” They laughed.

“No. I just knew that I love him and he loved me and we were both adults who knew what we were doing.”

“I agree with you. I’m happy for you.”

“Wait a minute. Does this mean you and Jeff…?”

Jas just smiled. “Well I’m going to get shower and head over to Justin’s.” Jas got an evil grin on his face. “Get your mind out of your gutter.”

I showered and dressed then headed over to Justin’s house. When I got there all the guys were there. I rang the doorbell and Justin answered the door. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him. He kissed me passionately. “Wow! What a greeting?”

“I’ve been thinking about you all day. I even had a dream about you.”

“Oh really? Was it a good dream?”

Justin got an evil look in his eyes. “Oh yeah it was great.”

“Justin, who is it?” JC yelled.

“We better get in there before JC has a freaking cow. He hasn’t let me out of his site all day. Don’t ever let me stay out without calling him again.”

“He’s being a little overprotective huh?”

“Oh yeah.”

“Well you’re going to have to let go of me if we’re going to go in.” Justin laughed and let me go grabbing my hand.

“Hey guys, what’s up?” I said to all the guys in the living room. Dani was there with Chris, Bri was there with JC, and April was there with Joey.

“Sophie, I want you to meet my girlfriend April. April, this is Justin’s girlfriend Sophie,” Joey said.

“Hi. It’s nice to meet you,” April said.

“You too.”

Justin sat down and pulled me down on his lap. We all sat around and talked until the phone rang. Justin answered the phone. “Hello?”

“May I speak to Justin?”

“This is Justin. Who may I ask is this?”

“This is Sophie’s boyfriend Scott.”

“Man what are you talking about?”

“You may think you took her from me, but you can’t. She was my first love, my first kiss, my first lover, everything I was to her too.”

“How did you get this number?” Everyone was looking at him.

“Sophie’s brother gave me her dorm room number and Jas gave me yours.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Ask Sophie. She will tell you everything is true.”

Justin hung up the phone.

“Who was that?” Lance asked.

“Just a crazy fan who got our number. We’ll have to change it. Soph and I are going to head up to my room to watch a movie.” I stood up confused and followed Justin upstairs.

Justin sat on the bed and I sat beside him. “Justin what’s wrong? Who was that on the phone?”

“Sophie, do you know someone named Scott?”

“Yeah.”

“Who is he?”

“He’s an ex-boyfriend I went with freshman and sophomore years in high school. Why?”

“That was him on the phone.”

“What? I thought it was a fan?”

“Nope. I just told the other guys that. He said that you two were still going out. He also said he was your first kiss and first…lover.”

“He was my first kiss. I was a freshman. But Justin, you have to trust me that you’re my first lover.”

“I do.”

“How did he get your number?”

”He got yours from your brother and Jas gave him mine.”

“I can’t believe Jas would do that.”

“You’ll have to ask her about it.”

“I will.” Justin sat back on the bed with his head behind his hands.

”So what movie do you want to watch?” I didn’t say anything. I crawled onto his lap so I was straddling his hips. I kissed him supporting myself with my hands on his chest. I pulled away when I needed air and laid my head on his chest wrapping my arms around his waist. “Was that a suggestion?” I hit him lightly in the back.

“Is that all you think about?”

“Well with you sitting there like that I can’t really think of much else.”

I sat up with a smile on my face. “I’ll move if you want me to.” He tightened his arms around me.

“Oh no. I like you right where you are.”

“That’s good because I like it too.”

Just then the door opened and Joey walked in. He raised his eyebrows. “I see you two are watching a good movie.” I climbed off of Justin and stood up. “Jas called on your cell phone, which you left downstairs and said she needed you to come back to the dorm as soon as possible.”

“Ok. Thanks Joe.” He left the room leaving the door open.

“Well looks like I’ve got to go.”

“Do you have to? Can’t you just call her and see what she wants.”

“No. If she had wanted me to call she would have asked me to call. Its ok, babe. I’ll come by after classes tomorrow night.”

“Ok.” Justin got up and hugged me. “I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

I kissed him on the cheek. “Ok. Bye.” I walked downstairs and said goodbye to everyone. Then I drove over to the dorms. I walked into the room and was met by a terrified Jas.

“I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”

“Jas, what’s wrong? What are you talking about?”

“I think she’s talking about us,” a voice said. I looked up at my bed. There sat Scott and Josh.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

“I was hurt by what you said to me the other day so I decided to come back so we can talk about it,” Josh said.

“There is nothing to talk about. I don’t want you around me. And Scott, I have no idea what you are trying to pull.”

“I just want my girl back.”

“I’m not you’re girl and never will be.”

“Not a good thing to say,” Scott said climbing down.

“Jas, get out of here!” I screamed. I pushed her toward the door and she opened it and ran out. Scott who was on the floor ran towards the door and Josh quickly climbed down. I stood in front of the door so they couldn’t get out. Scott tried to pull me away, but I wouldn’t move.

“That was a big mistake. That was a huge mistake,” Josh said.

“She has nothing to do with this. She doesn’t even know who you guys are.”

“You’re going to pay for that,” Scott said. Josh came up to me and since he was so much bigger and stronger than Scott he pulled me off the door.

“We’re going for a ride,” Josh said. “And you’re going to be the driver.” They walked out to my Jeep and got in. They told me were to go and I drove.

Jas got and cab and headed to Jeff’s hotel. When she got there she jumped into his arms. “Babe, what’s wrong?”

“Sophie…Sophie…” Drew was standing near.

“What’s wrong with Sophie? Jas, where is she?”

“Justin! We have to go get Justin!” She looked up at Jeff. “Will you drive me to Justin’s house?”

Jeff had no idea what was going on, but he knew it was important. “Yeah. Let’s go.”

“I’m coming with,” Drew said. The three of them got into Jeff’s rental car and drove to Justin’s house. The minute the car stopped Jas jumped out and ran into the house not even knocking.

Everyone but Justin was still in the living room. “Where’s Justin?” Jas asked.

“Hey Jas. He’s upstairs in his room. Why?” Jas ran upstairs as Jeff and Drew ran into the house. “Jeff, Drew. What’s going on?” Chris asked.

“We’re not sure. Jas showed up at our room in the same state she is in now. She started saying something about Sophie then she said she had to come to Justin’s.” Bri jumped up and ran upstairs to Justin’s room.

“Jas, calm down and tell me what’s wrong,” Justin said. She just kept say she was sorry.

She took a few deep breaths before she spoke. “Sophie…Josh…Scott.”

Justin’s eyes widened. “Where are they? Are they in the dorm?” Jas nodded. Justin grabbed his keys and ran out to his car ignoring everyone trying to stop him. Bri jumped into his car right before he pulled out.

“I’m coming with you.” They rode in silence. Justin was exceeding speeds of 100 mph. They finally got there and ran up to the dorm room. They opened the door to find no one there. Justin looked out the window looking for Sophie’s jeep, but it wasn’t there. Bri picked up the phone.

“I need to report a missing person.”

“How long has this person been gone?”

“About an hour or so.”

“Lady, they had to be missing 48 hours before we can file a report.”

“But we know she’s with dangerous people. I can give you names.”

“If she doesn’t return within 48 hours call us back and we’ll file a report.”

Bri slammed the phone down. Justin looked at her. “They won’t do anything for 48 hours.”

“Let’s go. They couldn’t have gotten that far. They’re in her jeep. I’m sure of it.”

“Ok. Let’s go.” They went back down to Justin’s car and started driving around looking for my jeep.
