Welcome to Pic's homepage (hp) and his picco bello algorithms

Hello World! My friends call me 'Pic'. This sounds a bit like 'peak'. But it comes from 'piccolo', which means 'small'. I like pARAGLiDING and the number pi. I am a senior scientist and consultant from Switzerland. I was born in Zuerich at the 31.jul.1942. Almost 25 years later I graduated in electrical engineering with magna cum laude from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, FIT (German: Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule, ETH) in Zuerich. Then I specialized in digital numerical computations, mainly for aerospace applications. I never worked for Hewlett Packard although their name has the same abbreviation: HP. I am not acquainted with Bertrand Piccard and his father and his grandfather, but I admire them. Between my pic-ture and the globe you see my logo; it represents the overwritten combination of the letters of picco or even piccolo.

I would like to help you to solve algorithmically difficult problems, especially in modelling and optimal control of complex technical systems, in sophisticated processing of noisy sensor data and in optimal estimation (linear or nonlinear and adaptive) of poorly observable values, for example with the help of Kalman filtering and extended Kalman filtering.

I also know something about patent rights because I have written patent applications for 6 of my inventions. I also have killed 4 patents of other inventors; such is life.

In the map above the red circle in field C1 encloses a small lake (black) and my flat (green) in the north of the lake. My flat is located at Loowiesenstrasse 63 in the building G in the Sonnhalde which is located in the north-west of the village Adlikon which is located in the north-west of the town Regensdorf which is located in the north-west of Zuerich. The bus 485 stops at the station Sonnhalde at the Steinstrasse, in the south-east of the lake, at the Swiss national coordinates 677.192 / 256.194 km and 129 m away from my flat. The station "Sonnhalde West" is a bit further away. The number 15 in the map above indicates a post office just east of the station Sonnhalde . The bus 485 connects Frankental in Zuerich-Hoengg via the railway station Regensdorf-Watt and the bus station Sonnhalde with the railway station Buchs. The railway S6 connects Uetikon at the lake of Zuerich via Zuerich and Regensdorf-Watt and Buchs with Baden.

If you come by car, then I advise you to leave the highway A20 at ZH-Affoltern and to drive on the Wehntalerstrasse about 3 km towards Regensdorf. Then go around Adlikon about 1 km on the Neue Wehntalerstrasse towards Baden/Koblenz. Then do not choose the Buchserstrasse towards Baden/Buchs but rather the Wehntalerstrasse for about 500 m towards Koblenz/Dielsdorf. Then go left into the Bachtobelstrasse and then the Loowiesenstrasse. At the very end of the Loowiesenstrasse and in the north of it you find a parking for you. It is labeled "PRIVAT 57-63". From there go south to the Swiss national coordinates 677.146 / 256.315 km. There is my flat.
