Marcella Quintaniila sat solemnly next to Chris Perez with other family members beside them, hundreds od Selena's fans gathered in mourning along the fence surrounding the cemetary more than eight thousand white roses were placed around Selena's Black coffin at her burial in remebererance of Corpus Christi's rising star who had touched the hearts of Americans and Mexicans who can descent in hope and joy for a better life.
On April 7, 1995 at 11:47am, one week after the shooting at the aproximately the time of the incident, Austin radio station KKLB held a moment of silence for Selena. Texas Governer George W. Bush declared April 16, 1995, the singer's birthday and Easter Sunday, SELENA DAY in Texas

In her casket Selena was so beautiful as she lay in state. She was dressed in the purple outfit with the quilted jacket she had worn to accept her award at the Tejano Music Awards ceremony earlier that year-purple was her favorite color- her nails were done in gleaming red nail polish. A long-stemmed red rose lay in Selena's crossed hands.
Selena looked in peace.
Saturday, April 1st- Mourners gathered at Selena Etc. for a candlelight vigil
Sunday, April 2nd- (Selena and Chris's 2nd wedding anniversary) Corpus Christi's Bayfront Plaza Confention Center aproximately 50 THOUSAND people had passed through the exhibit hall to say their final good-byes
Monday, April 3rd- Funeral services were held at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi
