Dancing Through Life
By Sunny Patten

Life is as a dance. We move through a lot of different steps and feelings while dancing. The music directs our inner vibrations as it pulls us along. Sometimes we lead and sometimes we follow and sometimes we just goof up. Life doesn't stop the music. Life is patient, giving and loving. We may not always hear the inner tunes but they don't stop playing.

Listen to life deeply and live it lightly, as a dance. If we can feel as the butterfly flittering through the paths we take, we will accomplish much more. John Michael Montgomery sings a song called, "Life is a Dance." If you have not listened to the words of this song, I highly recommend it.

The key to living life as a dance is to not take ourselves too seriously. Thus we will be easier on those around us. Notice, when someone is crabby with others, they usually are picking on themselves in some way or another.

If we can remember they are really out of step in their life, we can hold our own balance and continue with our dance. They will recover and join us much more quickly this way.

Each of us has our own inner dance. When we can dance the same inside and out----we've found a richness of life. This richness allows us to dance lightly, freely and joyfully, through our days.

Thus we can enrich the lives of people around us. Laughter and joy are rich rewards of a light attitude. Next time something or someone seems to upset you, ask yourself how important this really is. Not many things in life are really as important as we first think.

The inner deeper self maturing and growing in a cheerful manner are more important than most things that happen to or around us. When we keep our own tune flowing from within, it is so easy to dance lightly to life's beats. What kind of song would we have if the tunes didn't move up and down the scales?

Listen and find your tune within. Dance with laugher in your soul, a sparkle in your eyes, and a smile on your face, thus experiencing life's dance and rewards.

Dancing With the Wind
by Dusty Reed

Optimism delights the soul. The universal allness is good. Humanity expresses this goodness. It may be clouded a bit or show some smog but the goodness can be found in all things.

"But what about those who are starving or someone who kills another? Where is the Goodness?"

Each being is expressing at his or her level of consciousness. To look on another's situation as unfavorable closes down one's awareness. Individuals grow by finding and acting upon the goodness in all situations.

The whirl sometimes carries a person into a space that is not familiar and maybe not be comfortable. What is the reaction? The underlying truth that this is a learning experience eventually comes to surface. It depends on how long it takes to find a healthy stand to observe and a willingness to accept. Once acceptance is allowed, the soft breeze of assurance nudges one along to his or her next experience.

It may require extending beyond what one has allowed to become a comfort zone. Building muscle requires going beyond physical comfort. It requires repetition until it is comfortable. This brings new strength. Complacency accomplishes little.

Hearing directions or seeing the path that is uniquely right for each person can sometimes bring frustration or confusion. My path may not be what others think is correct. My ideas may bring warnings or lectures of caution.

The spiritual path can carry anyone to mountain tops of enthusiasm and it may take along some monotonous footage of practicality. This fluctuating pattern can reveal itself myriad times over the years.

Offering gratitude for the mountain peaks, even when in the valley can bring an assurance and offer promise. The peaks are reality. Most everyone has been there and know they can and will go there again.

This insight brings enthusiasm, a feeling of being at the top of the world, a gaining of new insights, exuberant with enchantment. How does it happen?

There is not any definite or specific action but desire seems to be the first step. Daily meditation brings it closer. There may be visible 'signs' - a refreshing letter from a new friend who has similar interests; a cassette tape of teaching how to attain personal power, which offers a reminder of early steps in personal development; or maybe by reading personal development books and finding a gem that sparkles and offers a bridge to reality.

Acceptance is the next step. It brings an upward lift from the monotonous routine and offers a fanciful enthusiastic means of observing and participating in this thing called life.

Accepting the direction of the wind lets one step forth confidently and act on a specific purpose. As awareness sets in, an inner wisdom and calmness begins to offer guidance. More and more, the individual begins to become a part of this goodness.

Lectures given by others can provide opportunity to listen more closely to the message of the wind. Obediently going where it leads brings healthy sunshine.

This healthy sunshine may, again, not appear as such to others. To be amongst others in pain, poor in spirit, can be considered as sunshine. These people have much to teach and perhaps one may offer something worthwhile for them. Being in the sunshine is a matter of attitude.

A hot, humid day gives the tendency to exert as little physical energy as necessary. It brings effort to get up and move about. However, the slightest breeze, even by artificial means, can provide the bit of freshness to keep going. The breeze is offering itself without effort to provide comfort. The breeze occurs when one offers oneself to others. The effort disappears.

The effects of the wind do not explain the cause. The passion, the profound power that rests behind the wind offers a mystique that may never be answered. Its essence is beyond wisdom, beyond perception, or is it?

What is written on the wind? Purpose in life. It may be a soft whisper in the breeze. It may echo and it may fade but it is there. How do people hear it? They listen. Really listen.

To listen, all other thoughts are released. Mentally going within with the intention of hearing the still, small voice is where it begins. The small voice may not be audible. It may be a feeling, an intuitive flash, an essence of knowing. It may be a colorful symbol. It is allowed it to happen.

Understanding may come at the time or it may come later, during another activity. The important happening is the time taken for quietness to listen. Too often it is easy to start making requests during quiet time. Time to listen is neglected, to absorb what is already written on the wind.

Listening reveals the call of the soul. By offering one's entire being to this essence, it expresses the heart throb of the soul. It reflects and sings the song of the heart. This song is the essence of one's purpose. Its melody saturates one's being.

Responding to the melody of the soul, one discovers there is an enchanting harmony to the song. It offers an awareness and closer attainment to the universal essence of purpose. It offers optimism. It offers the gift of dancing with the wind.
