Being willing to grow and open to God's touch allows me to release all anxiety And enjoy to the fullest this moment And be satisfied. ~ ~ ~ Growing by Dusty Reed Growing in God's love is a different world than what surrounds me. All of life is effortless if I'm following His light, Growing in His love. (`~`*`~`)`~`*`~`(`~`*`~`)`~`*`~`(`~`*`~`)`~`*``~` (`~`*`~`) Listen! by Dusty Reed When I journal, I frequently find myself writing, "Listen!" My question, because of my impatience, then becomes "What am I to hear by listening? What is the way to do this?" Seldom do I hear step by step instructions but I know my assignment is to just take the next step. "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" - Matthew 6:33. My instruction recently for listen has been from within about absorbing or releasing beliefs. This then begins to surface and happen in communication with others. A journal entry describes this: "Listen! Awareness brings gratitude. Gratitude brings awareness. Be grateful through opportunities. See them as stepping stones to get you across a rushing mountain stream. Be grateful they are there. You don't need to know why they are there. The results of these opportunities will be added to your experience and give you an unseen knowing of God's presence in all your happenings. You already know this but sometimes you hesitate. Continue to listen and respond to the Goodness. It will lead you to more and more awareness. I can offer comfort, tenderness, and compassion for others. What I share with some may be tough love. They may not understand my reasoning and walk away. Whether they are willing to accept this as tenderness is their choice. I am offering it as such. In-depth family discussions are often a listen instruction with the follow-up for me to take action. Just the listening without the follow-through is nothing. When I receive the Holy Spirit's message, it is similar. It means to do as instructed or as what I sense as the Lord's goodness as my subsequent action. Participating in what another person is sharing, not just sitting back and being attentive, often reveals a fragrant message for me to deal with. That is where my lesson is in this moment. Questions and comments from others intrigue my curiosity. "Just what are my beliefs in this area?" "In what way am I willing to expand my beliefs by listening to or touching these thoughts of others?" "Why is there such a diversity in the beliefs of others?" "Why can it not be blended for us to become as one in our beliefs?" Stepping back to see the overall panorama, I once again understand that everything has a purpose, including the diversity of beliefs. If we all believed the same, there would be no expansion and our beliefs would stagnate. The belief that I am a whole child of God offers healthy self-esteem. Realizing everything that wholeness holds is my joy in life. Seeing new awareness of who I am and my readiness to accept appear daily as I open to acknowledge the gifts that are mine. Gifts such as wisdom, unlimiting love, health and enthusiasm, just to name a few, are already within waiting to be applied to my thoughts, feelings and communication with others. I assume God's goodness will happen and it does. The important lesson for me is to share the Lord's blessings with others. Waiting for the glory is not necessary. It happens moment by moment as I am attuned to God's love. I continue to offer gratitude.
