The following exercises and excerpt of Communing With Nature are from the book, "Doors and Keys," by Dusty Reed:
CLEANSING
Visualize the aspects of your foundation - spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, relationship with family, social and financial - one at a time - before you in a plain outline form of your body. Begin washing across it, as if using an eraser on a blackboard, washing it with golden light. If there are any dark kspots, they may need a bit more rubbing.
Do this with each of the last six areas individually and set them aside, still in view, one on top of the other.
Then, bring the spiritual outline to front and center - it does not need washing - and take the stacked other six and place them into it - they blend and all becomes golden light. It can be a quick rejuvinator or a quick relaxer.
COMMUNICATION
An exercise revealing communication includes two people walking together. One is the leader and the other is a nerd, trying desperately, to the point of being a nuisance, to stay in step with the other person, making wild gestures of this attempt. If the leader is not on center, the nerd can disable both. If the leader is on center, eventually the nerd feels the energy and falls into unison effortlessly.
EMBRACE THE ALLNESS
This exercise can be done by using the pointer and third finger and tapping the outside of the other hand, the bone just below the little finger. Repeat the affirmation five times while doing this to one hand. Then change hands and repeat the affirmation five more times.
It can also be done by holding your hands in front of you, palms facing you and tapping the edges of your hands together, tapping the same spot that was being done individually by the fingers. Do this and say the affirmation ten times.
This can have tremendous affects when there is any state of imbalance. Frequently the shift can be felt physically.

COMMUNING WITH NATURE
An encounter between a dear friend and my then six-year-old son beautifully showed a response to nature, to the abundance of gifts that are already ours.
When we stopped at my friend's home, my son asked about some flowers in front of her house. She said he could touch them and tell them he loves them. He asked how they would talk back. She said, "you will hear them with your heart."
The happening was a beautiful, very emotional (for me) experience to hear his communication with and response from the flowers. It was very special.
His first comment, as he rubbed a petal, was, "I love you." She asked him what the flower was saying. He said, "it says it loves me, too." He saw one with water drops. He said it was telling him it had just enjoyed a drink of water but spilled some on its petals, "just as I sometimes spill down my shirt."
Through the years, Shawn continued to commune with nature, sometimes asking me what the birds were saying to me or telling me what a flower or bush was saying. He responded to them with love from his heart.
