Love of Nature
Many resources are available either at the library, on internet or through naturalist's newsletters and many organizations and societies for research about wildlife. You can find descriptions for specific geographical areas, birds that live in your area, plants that are edible, migration routes of birds, where wild life refuges and museums are located, how to build an atrium, and even what trees and fauna to plant to draw or repel certain insects, birds and other animals.
Maybe your heartthrob is swimming with whales or dolphins, which may seem extreme to some. Hold that
dream, regardless of what others say. There are tours from various coastal cities. Follow the steps that will
get you there. Along with the actual experience, you will have memories to last a lifetime. It may be such an
experience that you pursue following this dream many times over.
Camping with an organized group or roughing it with family or friends offer the excitement and satisfaction of visiting with various aspects of nature. Unless the area is designated for personal hikes, it is good to take a guide who can point out various points of interest as well as keep you from getting lost or injured.
There are horseback riding vacations and tours available in many countries. Some enjoy cross-country skiing for observing pristine winter scenes. Bicycle tours also give a different concept of nature. I found a new world of discovery when we traveled up the West Coast by motorcycle. Being out in the weather, not being able to read or sit back and close your eyes to sleep, even though that can be an option on the motorcycle, gives a whole new panorama. It is invigorating and brings awareness of places not previously seen. One such that I remember well was when my husband tapped my knee and pointed back into a crevice as we were travelling through Oregon. There was a lovely little waterfall giving a feast to the eyes.
Travelling by season will change the view. Plan to visit similar areas in each of the seasons to make your study complete.
Conservatories often include a planetarium showing views of the stars and constellations. This can lead to further study and very relaxing and enjoyable nighttime vigils of stargazing.
Certain times of the year provide a panorama of northern lights across the Northern Hemisphere. Plan to be as far north as you can get during that time of year so you can marvel with an intake of breath as you watch the skies.
Even if your heartthrob is enjoying a lovely sunrise or sunset, set apart that time to be with this beautiful wonder every day.
