Evaluating the Truth in Our Lives Today

Driving to a meeting, I was visiting with a friend who was riding with me. She sighed and shared that she was having difficulty feeling that she was accomplishing anything worthwhile. I shared some of my concepts with her.

I believe symbolism is infinite and each person sees his or her beliefs in a different light, even if they sit in the same pew at church. Faith and belief far expand church walls, although some religious groups attempt to have us believe differently. I agree with my husband when he says, in his view, that both Christian and other religions will accept you "into the fold," regardless of what you believe, but still with the intent of converting you to their belief system. This is not a discussion of my views of the church. It is my study of where I am from the guidance and nurturing of those who encouraged my freedom to explore my Truth.

If we could come together with a universal philosophy for all religions that would allow and encourage individuals to follow their personal relationship with the Lord, we would have many occasions for expansion through openly sharing with one another without becoming defensive. I hear this philosophy in writing by others. I don't know how or if it is actually practiced by others but it appears to be gaining strength as a preferred philosophy.

Once the non-judgment is reached, including influences of philosophical, political and religious backgrounds, we can share our interpretations and sense more of our aliveness in this moment.

Will I believe this tomorrow, next week, or next year? Expansion sometimes includes eliminating some areas of investigation that prove to be other than my truth. These are only shadows that disappear as I follow the Light. My Light is the Spirit, or Energy, of God.

Living In Our Now

I once heard a statement, "You are exactly where you want to be now." Does this say something? Living in the present tense is a dynamic experience. It gives us the taste of accomplishment if we do exactly what is to be done now, with no anxieties.

Are you content with your present moment? Stop what you are doing, take a deep breath, go within and ask what you are to be doing this moment.

By scurrying around in busy worlds, we can get so involved in projects that we forget to ask if this is what we are to be doing. Once we have gotten into a situation without help, we don't have to hesitate to ask for help to get us out of it. We can receive direction, with detail, for what is appropriate for us at the time. The important "action" is that we take time to listen for the answer.

When we commit to the present situation, we discipline our brains and bodies to function in the actions necessary to get the desired results.

Does accomplishment now mean we cannot make plans? It does mean to not live in the future. If it gives pleasure, relaxation or economic good sense to make plans, we can do so. If it becomes a threat or causes anxiety, we can remind ourselves that this is only a plan. The only way to enjoy the possibility of it becoming a reality is by making the best use of and enjoying the present moment.

When we commit to the present situation, we discipline our brains and bodies to function in the actions necessary to get the desired results.
