Quest

Author, Mary Summer Rain, writes of her responses with two mentors. She seeks inner awareness. Her teachers continue to return her questions with a question or say to her, "Think!" They offer confirmation when she discovers the "right" answer.

I cherish her ability to step into reality. I have felt it in meditation. The process of stepping deeper into the forest of experience, which my reality holds for me, is the purpose of this writing.

I am aware of and continue to practice and enjoy the process of taking a step, enjoying where my foot lands. This space is created through the process of taking another step. There is a continuity with the past but it receives new fulfillment through expression. Faith offers guidance in each step. This brings joy in every moment.

A quick glance ahead shows the path is favorable. There is a knowing when I am advancing on a harmonious path. This knowing offers assurance as I step in the direction of reality.

Reality is to step into the world of Allness. We can exercise the mind to receive new possibilities with few limits or boundaries. Truth will make itself known through repetition and from a sense of understanding that surges from within. Fantasy will be known for what it represents.

There may be some surprises. What was thought to be reality may show itself as not real.

When we pursue our good, we are seeking Love, wisdom, health and the music of the natural world that resonates harmony. We search for understanding, strength, joy, communion, compassion and gratitude. We seek our good, whatever that might be.

We neglect to acknowledge that we already have our good. We may not be giving it the spot light at center stage but it is there, only awaiting acknowledgement. Each time we offer an act of love, of compassion, of connectedness, we receive empowerment of this good.

By reminding ourselves that our good is abundant and that we have healthy and wholesome abundance, we begin experiencing our good. It may appear shy at first. We can boldly call it forth and allow it to become perfection.

As we experience our good, we see the abundance. As we experience our abundance, we see the good. We have recognition of the value and sacred identity within and with our natural world and with every other part of life. This awareness reveals the gift of a visionary.

Awareness is total acceptance of life, acting as a channel of Love, peace and wisdom.

Complete acceptance requires preparation. Preparation offers assurance.

Accepting the Gift

Through the ages, it is recorded that a visionary receives acceptance by humanity as one who recognizes a special sense. Does everyone have this special sense?

Physical bodies and mental processes are similar. There is scientific discussion about a sixth sense. Just as scientists have made a discovery of an expanding universe, so there are still undiscovered sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth senses in humanity. Most are beyond our comprehension at this time.

What was thought to be fantasy may reveal itself as reality. Anyone can have and be whatever he or she chooses. Name it, accept it, be it.

According to World Book, a mystic is one with (1) knowledge of a spiritual reality that exists beyond the everyday world, (2) spiritual union with some higher power, and (3) freedom from selfish needs and worldly desires. It is the experience of wholeness, the perception of the presence of God within.

Venturing further, discovery came that "seer" is used twenty-one times in the Old Testament of the Bible. Amongst this scripture, a seer interprets as a prophet. Prophets capture a visualization of pure wisdom.

The Bible refers frequently to angels as higher powers. It does not always describe their form. It does refer to visitations from angels throughout Scripture.

Various religions accept a shaman as someone with direct contact with the supernatural. Mystics carry many cultural interpretations.

Frequently, true mystics do not acknowledge themselves as visionaries. They cherish their gift with gratitude but do not label it with distinction.
