Let Us Not Forget
And... Have the leaves of the trees not turned
to the lifeless shades of Gray and Brown
from their vibrant colours of Green Red and Yellow?
And... Have the waters not been polluted or run dry?
And... What of our children who suffer
from having no food to eat,
shelter from the cold, or clothing to wear?
This land has not yet been completely destroyed.
Yet it has been forgotten,
neglected and abused.
My brothers and sisters,
we have stripped off, wasted away
and poisioned our own MOTHER EARTH
to the point where our resources are dying.
Do we not care?
Do we not feel her pain and suffering?
Are our hearts not heavy with sadness?
Have we no shame?
Let us once again hold sacred
our MOTHER EARTH; the way she was
in the days of our ancestors, long ago...
Let us live off the land;
Waste nothing...
Poision nothing...
Destroy nothing...
And...
LET US NOT FORGET; but Remember...
MOTHER EARTH was put here
not for us to own or destroy;
but as a gift from The Creator
for us to live here in peace and harmony
with our brothers and sisters,
as one with the land...
Until we breathe no more.
