COTTON CANDY CLOUDS

By: MARY ANNE WHITE

As I head towards the airport
to fly into the sky.
I think of you my child
imagining you above those clouds.

My heart begins to beat so rapidly,
as I take my seat inside that plane
which will take me up into the sky,
lifting me up into the calmness of the clouds.

I close my eyes, and wait
when finally the announcement comes,
telling me we have finally reached our altitude
up in the sky between the floating clouds.

The vision that I am now seeing,
when I look out into the clouds,
could this possibly be how my child, my angel,
peeks in on me now through these fluffy clouds?

What a sensational feeling I am getting,
as I feel the closeness of my angel,
and vision him so freely
playing among these cotton candy clouds.

MY HANDS WERE BUSY

My hands were busy through the day,
I didn't have much time to play
the little games you asked me to.
But when you'd bring your teddy bear
and ask me please to share your fun,
I'd say, "A little later, son."
I'd tuck you in all safe at night
and hear your prayers, turn out the light,
then tiptoe softly to the door...
I wish I'd stayed a minute more.

For life is short, the years rush past...
a little boy grows so fast,
no longer is he at your side,
his precious secrets to confide.
The teddy bears are put away,
there are no longer games to play.
No good~night kiss, no prayers to hear...
that all belongs to yesteryear.

My hands, once busy, now are still.
The days are long and hard to fill.
I wish now I could go back and do the
little things you asked of me.

Jay, if I could just hear your voice
just one more time. I'd would do
all those things you ask me to.
