Undertaker vs. Bret Hart (WWF Title Match. Shawn Michaels is the Guest referee here as The Undertaker defends the title against The WWF's biggest heel in Bret Hart. Late in the match Bret Goads Shawn Michaels into swinging a chair at him. Although not with the results that Shawn Michaels expected. Michaels inadvertantly causes the "Hitman" to win the WWF Title! Thus begins the angle that would put together the greatest group of "Cool Heels" since the New World Order - Summerslam 97)

Interview - Shawn Michaels (Michaels is dressed in some EXTREMELY tight shorts. By this time, Michaels had "lost his smile" and was trying anything at this point to be fired by the WWF so he could go to WCW & be with his friends Hall & Nash. Vince of course, refused to let Michaels go. Unfortunately, this meant that Shawn Michaels could get away with being the most obnoxious guy in the locker room, and basically do whatever he wanted without getting punished for it. He didn't have too many friends in the WWF at this point. Michaels, while being the WWF's best worker at this point was now virtually at the HEIGHT of his arrogance. Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker (Hell in the Cell. INCREDIBLE MATCH! Both Michaels & Undertaker brawl both inside and outside and ON TOP of the cage. A BLOODY Shawn Michaels takes the BIGGEST BUMP OF THE NIGHT as hanging from the top of the cage, he takes a fall THROUGH THE SPANISH ANNOUNCER'S TABLE! At the time, this match was considered one of the best cage matches in history. The Undertaker's Hell in the Cell match with Mankind the following year would blow this one away. However, it shouldn't take away from what took place here. Also notable about this match, is that we saw the debut of KANE! Kane comes out in an excellent segment that had a direct impact on the end of the match. Both Jim Ross and Vince McMahon do a very good job of putting over Kane as an absolute monster here. - IYH Badd Blood - 10/5/97)

Shawn Michaels calls for footage of the previous night's Hell in the Cell match, but instead, we get what became known as the "Kliq Curtain Call" at Madison Square Garden in 1995. This footage Showed the aforementioned Kliq members celebrating in the ring together even though Helmsley & Nash were both heels, while Michaels and Hall were babyfaces. Triple H even points this out during the segment as the video is shown.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (World Title Match - Survivor Series 97 - 11/9/97) (Without a doubt one of the most INFAMOUS matches in the History of the sport. Bret & Shawn, who had LEGIT heat with each other squared off in what turned out to be Bret Hart's LAST match in the WWF. This was a GREAT MATCH, but this match will not be known for it's work rate. The match was scheduled to end with a DQ run in by the Hart Foundation. However, Vince McMahon, afraid that Bret (who was to go to WCW) would show up on Nitro with the WWF championship belt around his waist, decided to change the script. Vince, unbeknownst to Bret Hart, ordered the referee to stop the match the instant that Shawn Michaels locked Bret Hart in the Sharpshooter. The result was the BIGGEST SCREW JOB IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT! BONUS FOOTAGE!

Shawn Michaels is celebrating on the ring apron while Triple H and Chyna beat up Shamrock on the outside, but Shawn Michaels is suddenly pushed off the ring apron, and through a table by OWEN HART! The last surviving member of the Hart Foundation returns with a VENGEANCE, beating up Michaels and escaping into the crowd to a HUGE POP!- IYH DX PPV- 12/7/97)

Shawn Michaels comes out in a casket, mocking his upcoming casket match with the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. But the BIGGEST news is that Chyna comes out SEVERAL CUP SIZES LARGER THAN SHE WAS LAST WEEK! The WWF apparently sprung for breast augmentation Surgery and Triple H and Shawn Michaels proceed to make several jokes to commemorate the occasion. This would be Shawn Michaels's final match as his nagging back injuries finally caught up with him. Michaels would disappear for a while after passing the torch to Austin, who would prove to be a MOST WORTHY successor. Austin would lead the WWF into its current state of greatness.
