Hammer's HomePage

This is the archives section.  This section is rather useless, but if you've been gone for a while and want to get back up to date, this is the place to do it.  To reduce load times on my "News and Updates" page, I will only include around five of the most recent news stories.  Instead of letting all those old updates and articles go to waste, I've decided to place them here for your enjoyment.  Right now, this page will just be old news.  But as it grows, I will most likely organize the old stories by month, ie: March, 2001.  For now, it will just include the most recent stories because this site hasn't been up long enough to have actual "archives", but I thought I'd get it out of the way early.  Until next time.

Slight Correction - It has been brought to my attention by a source who will remain un named, that there is a slight error in my summary for the game "Revenge of Yar's Revenge".  I had stated "Overall, the best of the Angelfire games, although I highly doubt "Mario" or "The Kool-Aid Guy" were characters in Atari 2600 games."   I have since been informed that "Donkey Kong" was actually released for the 2600.  This is where it gets confusing, due to numerous technicalities.  Although "Donkey Kong" was released for Atari, Mario has never starred in an Atari game.  "How is this possible?", you ask.  Quite simple, well not really, but here goes.  The character that we know today as "Mario Mario" (Yes, his last name is Mario too) has a secret past that we all should know about.  Long before his days as a lowly plumber, constantly saving the Princess and all of Mushroom Kingdom from the evil clutches of Bowser, Mario was a construction worker in the city of Tokyo.  Many of you may not remember this, and the main reason is because he was not known as "Mario" back then.  In his past, Mario preferred to be known as "Jump-Man".  This could get confusing, ah hell, it already is, but we will refer to him as "Mario" throughout the remainder of this article.  Mario was working on the steel frame for a new high-rise, when, reminiscent of "King Kong", a giant gorilla climbed the steel frame with leading lady in hand.  This leading lady was Mario's current girlfriend, Pauline.  Mario set after Pauline, but the giant ape was a formidable foe.  To keep Mario at bay, the Donkey Kong tossed heavy barrels of construction equipment at him, and even ripped the the buildings framework apart.  In the end, Mario defeats the ape and rescues Pauline.  "What purpose did that just serve?", you might ask.  To tell you the truth, I don't really know.  I'm just stubborn when it comes to being wrong, so here's my point.  Although, technically, "Mario" never starred in an Atari game, the character that we have grown to know and love as "Mario" did.  So, because of this, I must admit defeat and change the summary.  Though, technically, I was correct.  Not that any of you care, but at least you leave here knowing more than you did before.  Until next time.

Games Added - Finally, what you've all been waiting for.  Something fun on this site.  I've added the games section.  Please read the game summaries, and don't just go straight to the games.  I put a lot of effort into those summaries, and you may find some hints in the games too.  The games section can be found on the features page.  In case you didn't know, the features page is where I will be keeping all the new, fun stuff that I add.  Right now, the games section is the only thing available.  Feel free to e-mail me with suggestions on the features page, or the games section.  Until next time.

Sunday, March 18 - 12:14pm(CST)

It Begins - I would start out by making some statement such as "Mark this date, as it begins the dawning of a new era in homepages."  But we all know that's not true.  I know nobody out there really cares about me or my website, this is just something that I can waste my time on.  This page is and will forever be under construction, but I will try and make it as user friendly as possible.  Bear with me through the first couple weeks, as I try and work things out.  I will explain some of the additions, to let the visitors what to expect.  The first item is what you should be seeing right beneath this update.  I like to call this the "Topic of the Week".  I will pick a new topic every week, and you can respond by clicking on the link.  This week's topic is Favorite Cartoon Character.  I have included a few of my favs, and you can too.  Please put your name or an alias prior to your suggestion as I have done.  All my answers should have "Hammer:" before them.  When you add your favorite, it places it in a list and then randomly selects answers from that list everytime you view my page.  I must first approve your selection before it will show up, so don't expect to see it right after you enter it.  Also, feel free to enter more than 1 suggestion.  I have included three for this weeks topic.  Hit refresh to see new items.  Some other items include a weekly poll, and my guestbook.  Please participate in my poll, so I can see the public reaction of my site.  Also, feel free to sign my guestbook.  That's about all for right now.  I will be updating often in these next few days, so feel free to drop in often.  Until next time.
